Hello.
I'm planning a family trip to the Aquarium in Atlanta. I've read that it is advised to have a time reserved to enter as the crowds are heavy at some times of the day and without a time reserved you may not be able to get in at the time of arrival. What in your opinion is the best time of day to arrive? Is it better to be there when it opens or do the crowds thin later in the afternoon say 4 hours or so before closing? It will be open until 8:00 pm on the day we are going. Also, how long would you estimate a visit would last to see all the exhibits but not necessarily study it all just kind of pass through all the areas?
Thanks.
It's been over a year since we've been to the aquarium - if you are going on a weekend, I'd recommend getting there for when they open, as it can get really crowded. We've also gone before on a weekday, but went in the afternoon. It was not as crowded as the weekend, but still can be busy.
It's a great place to visit, your family will enjoy it.
Hi, we have annual passes for the aquarium. I highly recommend getting your passes before you arrive. First thing in the morning is great as the crowds build or after 2pm. We are not morning people so we always go in the afternoon and the crowds definitely get lighter as the afternoon goes on. You will be able to see all of the aquarium in about 3 to 4 hours. The Deepo 3D show is cute, but is a nice extra if you have the time (similar to the various "3D" shows at Disney). Have a wonderful trip.
I've been about half a dozen times since it opened. In the begening it was absolutely necessary to pre buy your tickets. I no longer feel it's a must, but I 's still pre- buy just to be safe. I suggest being there when they open for lighter crowds. As another poster said, the 3D movie is cute. Have a great time!
