| Indianapolis Passporters? My brother-in-law and I are going to Indy at the end of the month for a MotoGP race. We were looking at a hotel near the airport. Is this a nice area with restaturants? How far would it be to the Speedway from the airport area? Thanks, Michael

| I'll as my DH next time I talk to him if he has any advice for you. He loves the Speedway (he runs the Indy Mini every year). We are going to be in Indy at the beginning of September to stay at Sybaris. And he will drag me to Penzey's, since he apparently doesn't have enough spices. -Heather

| Oh, it's not far at all. I love to stay at the Country Inns and Suites, or the Crowne Plaza, or the Radisson or Hyatt Place I've stayed at all these places. The Country Inn and Suites has a Damons and Culvers right beside it, indoor pool and hot tub, and free breakfast. The Radisson has a restaurant/room service, but no pool. The Crowne Plaza has restaurants including a Sports Bar/Grill, room service, hot tub, pool, sauna, game room, 5 story atrium lobby. The Hyatt Place has an outdoor pool and some food you can order in the lobby. It has a free breakfast too. It has really comfy beds too. All of them are nice and they are all currently on my list to decide between for my December and March flights! The Speedway is about 5-7 miles from those hotels.

| Thanks Wendy!! I got the Crowne Plaza hotel for $61 a night through Hotwire. I'm splitting the cost with BIL so it will be real cheap to stay. I'm glad there is restaurants around, I hate having to drive all over looking for somewhere to eat. Michael

| Excellent!! That's one of my favorite of those hotels! They have a nice salmon and a great chocolate cake! Or the Sports Bar is fun!! I think I might hit hotwire this time and try my luck, although I have been known to get a 3 star for $35 at the Hyatt Place(regular $150)

| You need to go to Mug n' Bun on 10th st. It is pretty close to the track and it's a drive in. It has been around for over 40 years and you must get the home made root beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mug 'N' Bun Drive-In - Indianapolis, IN

If you go Downtown, try Shapiro's Deli on Meridian. Been around FOREVER and they have BEST pastrami on rye(with mustard!) I've ever eaten. If you do not get downtown, do not fret as there is one on the B side and their prices are only about a $1 more than downtown. If you like seafood, there's the Oceanaire Seafood Room, also on Meridian. It's got the BEST crab cake ever.
