| Busch Gardens Williamsburg Howl-O-Scream? We want to take the DD's down to Williamsburg for Columbus Day weekend and were wondering if anyone has taken kids to HOS @ BG? My 13 year old is a chicken but can handle it LOL. I am concerned for my 7 year old mostly. She is very brave. She looks duirng the Alien part of The Great Movie ride, likes haunted mansion and Dinosaur, i just am not sure how intense this may be; like do people chase you? That may be a bit much for her. Also does it run all day or just at night? The park hours for that Sunday are 10am-10pm. Thank you in advance for any information! |

| We haven't gone . . . I have heard too many scary stories and I am a major weenie, not to mention 8 y/o and baby don't need to have the bejeebers scared out of them. Best comparison I have heard from friends who have gone is that it is similar to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal . . . which I will NOT do. :This year it is supposed to be scarier than past years as they are adding more "stuff", more scare zones, roving freaks and such. They appear to be leaning more towards the target of teenagers and adults who like to be scared. I heard they are taking away some of the tamer things and putting scary (NOT for kids) things in place. This year there will be an area that is for ages 17 and up only. I think we'll be waiting to go back up until after Thanksgiving when they reopen for "Christmas Town". Christmas Town at Busch GardensETA: I think the scariest stuff starts after it gets dark (I have heard around 6pm-ish) but there are shows throughout the day and the decorations may be a bit scary. I imagine they'd try to keep it tame during the day knowing that more folks will bring their little kids during the day. ETA again: We were actually considering taking our Girl Scout troop up just during the day one day and a parent, who goes every year with her DH as a date night, shared a ton of info on it and advised against taking the girls and if we did, staying much past 5pm. ![]()

| Thank you so much for the candid info. Looks like we will be skipping this and doing the Toy Story double feature and a corn maze that weekend! |
