| Help! One day in Charleston I just found out I'll be in Charleston for one day - what would be the one thing to see there? Recommendations for good but not horribly expensive dining are also appreciated. Thanks!!

| I highly recommend touring the downtown area--the harbor, Market St-the open air market and shops! As for dining--Poogan's Porch used to be my favorite. Magnolia, The Mills House and Charleston Grill are some of the heavy hitters.

| Our meal at Poogan's Porch in January was the highlight of our trip. Be sure to walk by Rainbow Row, it won't take long and it's awesome!

| We loved Rainbow Row as well, but the highlights for us were Fort Sumter and the Middleton Place Plantation.
