Alaska 2010!

We're taking the plunge and doing an Alaskan cruise for my parents 30th anniversary next summer. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has done a land or cruise vacation to Alaska and visited the following cities:

Ketchikan
Skagway
Juneau
Victoria

What did you do? Did you enjoy it? I have done a lot of research about what is generally available in each port and would just like to hear from those who have actually done some activities there.

Thank you!

We're heading to Alaska on the Disney cruise in 2011, so I'd love to hear from others, but to start you off, here are a couple of recent trip reports from Alaskan cruisers, which I've found very useful - my bucket trip, heading north to Alaska and To Alaska and beyond.

We went to Alaska in Aug 2008 for two weeks. The first week was on the cruise and the second week we traveled as far north as we could get with my parents and their fiends.

I did not book any shore excursions through the cruise company, did it all myself and saved $$$.

You might also want to look into the Great Alaskan Toursaver book Alaska TourSaver -- Coupons for Alaska travel vacations, Alaska deals and discounts

It is well worth the money

If you have any questions fell free to contact me.
