Red face I think air fares are sneaking up.

I think air fares are sneaking up.

Just booked 1/2 of my air travel for my next cruise. Same approximate time of year + midweek travel.. Same flights....

one way (doing Panama canal so only flying SMF to FLL) is $299. Last year same round trip was $350

Thank goodness return flight will be from LAX for around $100 when I book it.

If you are planning ahead, I think getting airfares early may be wise

Air fares follow the price of oil, so I'm not surprised

On a whim I was looking for fares to Amsterdam for this summer the other day....an economy flight averaged around $3000.00. Ack! (we are thinking of going overseas next year ).

You'll have to let us know about how those plans pan out - Amsterdam's not that far away from us...

I agree - the flights we just bought for December were a whopping £2,400 for Premium Economy. Last year, we only paid about £2,000.....

That's what keeping us from going to Europe. DD wanted a European cruise for high school graduation next year. I was fine with the price of the cruise, but when checking airfare for a family of 4, couldn't believe it. We've ended up booking a caribbean cruise on the Allure of the Seas. Someday we'll get overseas!

That sounds awefully high! I checked flight prices from Germany to Orlando (round trip) for early summer this year (just looking since we're not flying till next year) and it was only like $800 round trip per person. Not too much higher than the last couple of years...

Hi!

If you find an airfare that you can accept and live with the price, buy it immediately! Airfares are issued 333 days in advance on most airlines and have several levels of fares...the least expensive sell out first. Airfares can stay the same for days or months or can change thousands of times an hour. It is impossible to predict accurately. My best advice is...if you find an airfare you like, buy it!

Have a magical day!
