Any suggestions for a decent hotel in the Baltimore area? I'll be there for one weekend with my DD to apartment hunt in the Johns Hopkins area. We will be making a LATE arrival Friday night and decided we are going to drive down so a decent place to park is a must.
Just this past March, we stayed at the Sheraton downtown - got a good price on Hotels.com. It was nice with a good location. There is on site parking but it is a bit pricey. We've also stayed at the Holiday Inn on Eutaw street and the Radisson (not sure of the street but close to the Sheraton). You might also want to check out the new Hilton that overlooks Camden Yards. Good luck apartment hunting - our daughter loved living in Baltimore, although she was not in the downtown area!

We just stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the Inner Harbor over Easter weekend The hotel was fine; close to everything and parking was $23.00 per day in the adjacent garage.
If you don't want to pay for parking, we have stayed at the Embassy Suites in Lithicum, out by the airport. We have always been satisfied with every Embassy Suites we have stayed in and almost any Hilton property.
I don't know when you are going but when my daughter was in college up the street from Johns Hopkins we always stayed at a Comfort Inn that was in Towson on Loch Raven Blvd. Not a 4 star hotel but cheap; free breakfast; free parking; close to 695; and a decent room and only 15 minutes to her school.

That was the hotel we used for our wedding guests! It is a lovely hotel, indeed! (We got married at the nearby Elkridge Furnace Inn --- wonder if it's still there?)
Anyway, my family is headed to Baltimore in mid-June for DS to get evaluated for developmental delay at Hopkins' Kennedy Krieger Institute. They have a PDF on their website listing all the major hotels in Baltimore & their distance from the various Hopkins campuses. You can find the list at http://www.kennedykrieger.org/sites/...s-patients.pdf.
I'll be keeping eyes on this thread, as we haven't yet figured out where we want to stay. We've almost decided on the Holiday Inn on Lombard Street, as it has a pool, which will be crucial in keeping DD happy as she endures 3 days of waiting for her brother while he gets tested & tested & tested.
Good luck! And congrats on your daughter's going to Hopkins --- every program there seems to be top-rated!

I just got back from Disney and still haven't book the Baltimore hotel! I think I am going to book in Towson. My daughter knows that area as she has a friend in school there.
The Sheraton Baltimore North is on Dulaney Valley Rd in Towson, next to Towson Town Center. It's a large mall with a number of eateries in the area. We like Bahama Breeze, but there is also a TGI Friday within walking distance. The hotel offers free internet and free parking. Then there is Towson University Marriott, obviously, located next to TU.

I booked the Hilton Garden Inn in Linthicum, MD. I will let you know how it works out! We let them know ahead of time that we will be a late arrival. Off and driving shortly!
The Hilton Garden Inn was Lovely. We arrived very late and the staff was welcoming and had our room key ready and waiting! We did not use the pool but the area was clean and it has a nice 'business center'. The only thing I was not that keen on was the restaurant. Breakfast options were great (pay, not free), but dinner did not look appealing and they appeared to be very short staffed. We chose not to eat there for dinner, even though that was our plan at first. I would stay there again. The down side for me is that it is on the "other side" of where I am coming from so I might look for something a bit further north next time. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area.
