Disneyland Paris I've just got £600 worth of vouchers through to spend on a holiday, which we've collected over the last year. Now, amazingly I'm not planning on putting them towards a Disney vacation, mainly because I can't use them for a WDW holiday. I was just thinking about Disneyland Paris and while we could use them for there, I'm not keen. I think I'll stick to our original plans for a break to Oslo, Norway. It just made me wonder. Has anyone else been to Disneyland Paris, after WDW? What did you think of it? I was very disappointed. The weather wasn't good and a lot of things were in French - and I do speak some French! It just didn't seem like Disney to me. Any other thoughts? Cheryl

Re: Disneyland Paris We almost went last year, but took a cruise instead. I speak a little bit of French. DH speaks none. In the end we decided that we might not enjoy it as much as we thought. We compared it to a trip to one of the amusement parks in Canada. Some rides were fine, but we missed on a lot of the story line of some because of the language barrier and this detracted from the experience. Because most Disney attractions rely on a story line, we decided it might not be worth the money for us. Then again, we don't live in Europe either. I'm sure if we were Brits we would have taken a trip by now.

Re: Disneyland Paris I have been quite a few times to DLP - it is nearer and gives me a Disney fix when I can't get to the USA! There are some very good rides where the language does not detract - a lot of them are in english and french. one that does not work is the Phantom manor (haunted mansion) where you do lose some of it but the ride itself is incredible. Casey junior, storybook land, dragon under the castle etc etc are all different from WDW and very good. the park itself is beautiful - especially the castle! Also there are quite a few good table service restaurants, and being in France you can have wine with your meal. Downside? The weather, the lack of consistent Disney culture and the rude crowds.
