We just got word and I wanted to give you all a heads up.

The Pocono Chamber of Commerce just released some new info about the new outlet complex that's being built just off of route 80 in East Stroudsburg. It'll be called Pocono Premium Outlets and it'll be home to name brand outlet stores like Versace and a few others whose names are escaping me. [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] I couldn't find anything online about it yet, but the word is that the first stores will be open late this summer or early fall.

And there's a handy little hotel nearby called the Shannon Inn for you weekend shoppers (like Margo! [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] ). If you're coming in for some shopping and want to have a mini-meet just let me know! [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Late October is when I usually start my Christmas shopping so this is good news that I'll have a whole new set of stores to prowl! Thanks Chrissi!

Thanks for the info. Chrissie. We usually take a ride up there once a month because my cousin goes to college in East Stroudsburg. It will be nice to have a new place new to shop.

Hmm...maybe an Outlet Christmas Shopping mini-meet could be in the works here... [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] I'll post an update on the new outlets when I hear more.

Hi there. I'm just a short drive away. We heard that the outlets were mostly going to be upscale stores (like Versace, etc) that will cater to the NYC shoppers looking for a discount. These are stores I don't normally shop in (I mostly shop at the stores at Tannersville Outlets that I'm sure some of you are familiar with). However, I'd definately drive up for a meet..keep us posted!!!!

I'm a serious bargain-hunter myself. I don't really do the oulets, but would love an excuse to go. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] The outlets are kind of a running joke to the mountain-bred locals like my DH. [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] (All the out-of-towners come for the outlets - especially for back-to-school shopping. We pay half as much at the retail stores at our mall for the same name brand stuff sold at some of the outlet stores!)

I like to hit the outlets just to take a walk. (There are no sidewalks in my neighborhood. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] ) I'll take 10 bucks and get a coffee and a biscotti at Starbucks and people-watch. I really need a shopping partner. My best friend moved to VA last year!
