Universal Hollywood v/s Universal Florida I have a business trip this fall that will take me to San Diego. My wife and I are going to extend the trip a few days to take a mini-vacation. We had originally planned to hit the SD Zoo and Universal Hollywood. I have also been thinking of scheduling a trip to WDW in late Jan/early Feb as a surprise Christmas gift for my wife. We have always wanted to visit US and IOA also. We will only have about 7 days total. What would you do? Visit US in Hollywood and stick to 7 days at WDW in Jan? Or do something else while in San Diego and try to squeeze in a day or two at US and IOA when we are in Florida? How much of a difference is there between the two Universal's?

Re: Universal Hollywood v/s Universal Florida something to consider...US Hollywood is a long way from San Diego. If I can remember without quoting my map, it would be a couple of hour drive each way, and add in the famous LA traffic...It would be a really long day...and there is so much to see and do right in the San Diego area.

Re: Universal Hollywood v/s Universal Florida I agree. I have been to both US's. I liked the one in Hollywood better, but in FL you have both parks (US and IOA). I would wait until FL to do US. In San Diego, do the zoo and check out the rest of Balboa Park while you're there; they have several really nice museums. Old Town is nice to check out and is Seaport Village (along w/ the rest of the Embarcadero area), Point Loma, Harbor island, etc. If you have the chance, do a harbor cruise. I had a great time on mine!
