Thoughts on Marriott Residence Inn We are planning a trip to Washington, DC next weekend and are looking for some input. We have stayed in the Tysons Corner Mall area once before. We see that the Residence Inn by Marriott has pretty good rates--comparable to WDW Moderates in off-season--especially for AAA and Senior discounts. Does the Residence Inn cater more to the business traveler? Is it nice for a short family stay? Any comments are appreciated, as well any other thoughts on where to stay. We would like to get to the museums in D.C. and to the new wing of Air & Space at Dulles. Thanks ![]()

Re: Thoughts on Marriott Residence Inn As a family we love Residence Inn. I tend to look for that type of lodging when we travel elsewhere in the US. I don't know about that particular one, but if it's in Tysons, it's probably nice and not too far from Dulles.

Re: Thoughts on Marriott Residence Inn Are you looking at the one right in the heart of DC? We've stayed at the one in Pentagon City, and it's wonderful. Nice pool, great rooms and a very short walk to the metro. And being that it isn't in the center of thing it's sometimes cheaper. If we can swing it we totally prefer Residence Inns.

Re: Thoughts on Marriott Residence Inn The Residence Inns we've stayed in are wonderful. They had a full kitchen; refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes, table with place settings. They also had a complimentary breakfast with waffles, oatmeal, cereals, fruits and other stuff.

Re: Thoughts on Marriott Residence Inn I lived in a Residence Inn for 45 days when I moved to Jacksonville, (I should say Six, Rocky and I did). They offer breakfast in the am and an evening "snack" that is often enough for dinner. My parents lived in one in ABQ, NM for 75 days with my sister, my niece, 2 dogs and a cat when their house was being rebuilt after a fire. I noted lots of families when I lived there.
