With DH, myself and DD (3) we want to take a nice vacation next summer. Not sure where, but lasting 7 to 10 days. DD loves the water, the beach, parks, animals and other children. Where would you go? Disney is not on this because of the crowd levels. Don't want to spend a full week at the beach (would get too bored). International travel is acceptable too.
I know this is a strange predictament and never thought I'd have a problem trying to figure it out.
TIA!
My top pick would probably be San Diego. It is a beautiful city with near perfect weather and tons of things to do. There is of course the world famous San Diego Zoo as well as Sea World. You can still spend time at the beach as there are many beautiful beaches there. My top pick for places to stay in the San Diego area would be LaJolla which is a suburb to the north of San Diego. It has a quaint downtown shopping district, a neat little cove with sea lions and one of the most beautiful vista views in the area on nearby Mount Soledad. Other nearby attractions are Legoland in Carlsbad and of course there is always Disneyland which is only a two hour drive away in Anaheim. Good luck planning your summer vacation! Now, thats funny - before I read anyone else's reply I was going to say the same thing. I see your'e a Va girl like me. I was born in San Diego. We moved to Va when I was 8 years old. Every single year we were in Ca I was told I could go anywhere I wanted for my birthday and I went to the Zoo and the Animal Park every single year. I'm 36 and still have such great memories of the San Diego Zoo. That, along with the Bay - you can't beat the combo. You'll love it!
My co-worker just got back from San Diego and she now wants to move there!! I have actually never had an desire to go there, but I've never heard anybody say anything but good things about it.
