Washington DC ...Getting from BWI to DC?

I will be in Washington DC for a conference in early December. For those who live in the area or who have been there, what is the best way to get from the airport in Baltimore (BWI) into Washington DC. I will be staying at the Renaissance Washington DC right next to the convention center. Thanks.

You mean by cab or shuttle service? Not by rental car I suspect? http://www.bwiairporttaxi.com/ratetable.htm is the link for BWI Airport taxis. It's about $63 from the airport to DC. They do not do the return trip, but recommend other taxi services. It's about a 45 to 60 minute ride, depending on traffic.

Re: Washington DC ...Getting from BWI to DC?

Another option (depending on time of atrrivial) is the train from BWI to Union Station in DC for 5 dollars --

here is more info - From Washington, DC:
Board MARC Trains at Washington’s Union Station located at Massachusetts Ave. and First Street, NE. The Union Station ticket office is open daily from 5:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
To contact the Union Station ticket office, please call (202) 906-3104.

I don't think it runs on weekends.

Then take the metro from Union Station to the metro station nearest your hotel. For more info on metro - http://www.wmata.com./

Hope this helps.

We've had good luck with the Super Shuttle out of BWI.

Thanks to all for your quick responses. Not having been in the DC area for a long time, everything seemed so confusing. At least now I have a place to start. Thanks.

You can use a shuttle. taxi could coast you up to 95.00 if there is a traffic. suppershuttle.com charge you about 35.00 you share the van with other people. if you are the last person to drop off you they could keep u in the van more than two hours. it had happen to my wife. if you use maryland airport shuttle maryland airport shuttle bwi airport shuttle they have non stop just they pick u and take u direct to dc. they charge 55.00 one way. my family use all the time. they have highest level of service that meet your expection. Even if your flight delay they charge you nothing.

There is also another way bus from bwi to greenbelt from there you take metro to dc. it consume too much time. Success

It doesn't!

We rented a car at BWI and turned it in at Union Station, which was just two blocks from our hotel. You could then hop on the Metro to your hotel. (Or check if your hotel has a rental car drop off nearby.) It was $32 for the day and it was cheaper than any other option.
