| Re: Flying to Sacramento,CA Sacramento is my 'home' airport. It is very easy to navigate.
It only has two terminal buildings (one set of gates each) and it has each has it's own baggage claim area.
One terminal is a few years old, and has a better food court and selection of stores. (These are only accessible to ticketed passengers as they are upstairs, with the escalators being the check point beyond which non fliers cannot go) The other terminal is the original.
Parking is relatively cheap, for long term parking, with close covered parking garage (across the street from the new terminal) for handicapped and those just picking up passengers (first 1/2 hour free). Rental cars are by shuttle bus, as in many airports.
An 18 year old should have no problems. I have flown continental, delta, united, southwest and america west out of there. The airport is about a 10 minute drive north of Sacramento. It's biggest defect is transportation between the airport and the towns around it. That can be spotty. If someone is picking you up, it is easy (it has its own I-5 off ramp)
If you have more specific questions, go ahead an PM me. |
