| Re: Aloha Kana and Pila – Part 1 [ QUOTE ] Holy Sardine Can, Bagman!! I can tell you right here, right now, without a doubt, there is no way I would ever be able to go inside a submarine! Way too close quarters for my comfort! [/ QUOTE ] I agree but it looks like I can handle the Missouri. Just getting caught up from the beginning. Most excellent Master Storyteller/Photographer! Love all of the info including the soapbox notes. I vaguely remember rowdy kids getting in trouble when we there back in the late 70's. Amazingly enough i wasn't one of them but I was also 14 at the time. Keep it coming, Sir! |

| Re: Aloha Kana and Pila – Part 1 [b] Back to the house and the rest of our day… Ya know, I really should read my notes and look at my photos before I break a report.. This is gonna be short… We finished our tour of the Missouri, boarded the ride back to the parking lot… Got in the truck and headed back to Hickam AFB. Once on base, we stopped by the Travel & Tickets portion of Moral, Welfare, and Recreation. Here we can get tickets for local attractions at a reduced rate. The reduction for retired isn’t as great as active duty personnel on some things, but it’s still cheaper… We bought our tickets for the Atlantis Submarine ride and our Sunset/Dinner Cruise. After getting our tickets, we headed back to the house, played with the kids for the rest of the afternoon, ate dinner (sheppards pie), and downloaded our photos for the day, burning DVD’s as we filled them up… Off to bed and that’s a wrap on the day… It’s also the end of Part 1, this thread is getting quite large. I’ll start Part 2 with 5/23/06 and our plans are to climb Diamond Head Crater and visit the Honolulu Zoo. NEXT: PART 2, Diamond Head Crater… |
