Marnie-It's fun seeing Camden Yards through the eyes of others. I've worked for the O's for 20 seasons. I wish I had known you were going to coming to a game as it would have been nice to have a mini PP meet. I'm sorry that you and Colin were not feeling well. Here's hoping you trip home goes smoother that your trip down to the Mid-Atlantic.

Many trips, many more memories!

It was a last minute trip But we're already planning on going back next spring/summer to see either the Yankees or Red Sox, so I'll keep you in mind (as that will be a planned trip)
Marnie, after all the stuff your SIL dumped on you---you DESERVE that Disney trip!
Um, next time though, do you think you could come to MY house and feed my kids and clean?? I'll just sit back and watch while you do it! Sorry, had to let my mean streak out for a sec!
Glad you got to see a game and that you had a great time! Poor Colin! I just hate it when kids get sick.
Well, after going to be late, we had to be up early. The First Communion was at 10 or 10:30, I don't remember at this point. I know I woke to the sound of DMiL vacuuming the upstairs The weather for the day was dismal. Pouring rain pretty much the entire day.
Again, no breakfast to be had/offered. I'm not even sure what my kids ate as I was in the shower or packing our suitcases. I know I grabbed a croissant on the way out and ate it in the car. The church is actually in the school gym, as land is so expensive down there they can't afford to build a church! The ceremony was fine, and we were soon back at the house packing and getting ready for the party.
We changed our clothes, and DH packed the car. I was helping getting food out, and answering the front door to let the guests in (apparently no one else could hear the doorbell) We stayed until about 2, which was a little late for my tastes, as we had a 7 hour drive ahead of us. The drive around the Beltway was murder. I've never seen rain so hard in my life White knuckle driving, but actually, the traffic was moving (albeit between 30 and 40 mph). By the time we got just south of Baltimore, the rain and stopped and the clouds parted. There were some stop and go areas, and we made it to the rest stop in Delaware for a break. DH took over driving (since he had already slept for almost two hours)!! Now, since DH had unplugged the battery of the car when he was trying to diagnose it, we couldn't "unlock" the radio as we don't keep the code in the car. I had just put the code in about a month ago, as we had to get a new battery, so I knew the numbers in the code, just not their order :rolleys: So we spent time trying to "guess" the radio code. You could get 10 tries in before it locked, but it would reset and you could try again in an hour. This became our fun for the car ride!! Of course, the portable DVD player that we brought (and that was working the day before) now didn't want to work. Not sure if the kids dropped it when they were using it or what, so it was a very LONG ride back to CT
We hit a lot of traffic on the Jersey turnpike and inched along for about an hour. We were laughing at the amount of people lined up trying to get gas....at that point it was $3.17 but still, I don't think I'd sit for an hour (and that's how long the line had to be) to get gas.....saving a few bucks isn't worth the time (to me anyway). We stopped again on the Garden State Parkway, the last stop before NY. There was a bit of traffic on the Tappanzee at the tolls, but otherwise, it was smooth sailing back to CT. Our 7 hour ride turned into 8 hours, but we made it home safe and sound, which was my main concern with the car. We were all exhausted, and got everything inside and then called it a night!
THE END!! I'm not going to post final thoughts, other than go to Camden Yards if you get the chance Thanks for reading!!
Great report, thanks for sharing it with us!
Glad you made it back without any car trouble, hope you figured out the radio code.
Love your final thought
I'm with EJ, sounds like you needed a vacation after that!!! You probably did just as much there as you would have did at home . . . . So it wasn't really vacay after all At least Colin was a trooper though, without any complaining (at least not that you mentioned)!! Looking forward to reading your next TR (maybe with a reference to ME in it ) - it will be here before we all know it!!!
I think you need a vacation from your vacation. You probably did as much if not m ore than you would have done at home. Plus being sick at the time couldn't have helped. Camden Yards looks really nice. Tha nks for sharing your trip with us.
Liz
Thanks for sharing your trip with us! I'm guessing you were relieved to be back home, I know I would've been after that stressful "vacation"! Theres no place like home...........

Marine...I think I was actually happy for you that the trip was over. This was not a vacation for you...I mean the museums were great and the caverns but this was no break....I am just glad you all got home safe and sound and I hope you and Colin was feeling better by the time you all got home.
I think I'm with everyone else - it sounds like you needed another vacation after that one was over. It can't have been the easiest time away, with all the work you ended up doing to help family out. I hope your next vacation is a lot more relaxing!
