| Saturday 3 May – part two: “look, it’s the Changing of the Guard ceremony!” It was a beautiful day with perhaps some of the best views we’ve ever seen – it certainly seemed to us that you could see further afield than we’d ever experienced before. Charing Cross railway station with the British Telecom tower behind The view down the Thames St. Paul’s Cathedral Looking towards the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben through the structure of the London Eye Affectionately called the Gherkin, this building belongs to a Swiss bank A close-up of the BT tower ”Look, it’s the Changing of the Guard ceremony”, Mark announced, only to find everyone in the capsule flooding our way as they fought to see it Close-up of Big Ben The Houses of Parliament, with Portcullis House to the right (the black building), home to many of our MP’s Looking up to our neighbouring capsule The white arch you can see in the distance is the new Wembley Stadium, the national football stadium What used to be the London Weekend Television tower in the foreground, with St. Paul’s Cathedral behind Government buildings on the shoreline of the Thames Looking down on to one of the buildings near the Eye Waterloo Station The view across to the east of London and Canary Wharf office block Capsules with London behind Buckingham Palace More Government buildings Close-up of Big Ben with Westminster Abbey behind Looking west up the Thames What used to be County Hall, the former seat of government in London Of course, we had to get some photos of each other while we were up there: We walked back along the embankment with more photos – not all of them sensible: Don’t ask.....! Capturing a silly Mark photo moment Next: “I want my photo taken with a British policeman”!

| Great photos Cheryl! I've only actually made it up in the London Eye once and it was cloudy and rainy so the views were less than impressive. I'll have to try it again some day.
