| 30-years and back to the top Sometimes work for me is really fun, since I get to go places and see people that I would like to travel to personally. This past week was no exception. My parents are originally from St. Louis, and I have family there. So when it was announced that the Western Dredging Association's Annual Meeting would be held there, I took note. Then... a colleague I had done some work with proposed to write a paper about the work we did and submit it to the conference and see if it got accepted - and it DID!! So of course - I HAD to go... I won't bore you with all the details, but one of the evenings, a group of us headed downtown to the Arch. It has been almost 30 years since I've been to the Arch (when yous parents are from St. Louis - you have to go to the Arch at least once).... the last time I went - I was like 8 or 9 years old. So -- here are my pictures of our evening at the arch. The river is flooding right now Me in front of one of the legs of the Arch We decided this would be a good Irish album cover for a girl band!! After we finished playing - we went into the visitor center for the Arch And we took tram #3 to the top of the Arch Looking out the windows of the tram at the stairs - that would be a VERY long walk! To show you how small the tram is - this is all 5 of us seated in our tram car We arrived at the top and I started to take lots of photos Nadia and I playing at the top of the Arch The carpet here is a different color because this is the Keystone piece - the last piece of the Arch that was put in place when it was built. Continued in the next post

| Once we we left the top of the Arch - we continued with our car tour of downtown St. Louis St. Louis City Hall St. Louis Union Station - formerly the train station, now a shopping and dining area Then we headed to dinner - They make "fresh" beer - they don't pasteurize it - which the beer lovers in our group were quite excited about. I am not a beer drinker - so I didn't get it. We started with an appetizer to share - The beer sampler (Nadia's) My fish and chips The gang. We had such a great time and I was so glad to went with them and took a break from the conference craziness.

| Great pictures, I don't like heights so I was almost afraid to look down when we went.
