| The Leeds Castle Flower Festival Leeds Castle Flower Festival I’ve been meaning to post this for a while now, but just haven’t got round to it. A couple of weeks ago, Leeds Castle, which is in Maidstone, Kent, near where we live, held a flower festival, with roses in every room of the castle. It sounded stunning – and as we now have a year’s worth of admission to the castle – we decided to go along and check it out with our friends and it was quite something. I don’t intend to write a lot in this trip report, as I think this is one case where the photos really do say a thousand words and there’s not much I can say to complement them, although I will talk you through where they were taken. We got there at around 10am, which is when they opened and we were one of the first through the gate. For the first time, we decided to take the land train down to the castle, rather than the walk down there, which was a pleasant change. We ended up getting out by the maze (remember Sue and Steve playing in there? ![]() We walked towards the castle and found a group of swans, with a couple of them quite obviously getting a little friendly, shall we say! Then you get that wonderful view of the castle across the moat: ![]() Soon we were at the entrance to the castle: ![]() Into the cellar – no flowers here! ![]() Then upstairs into the heraldry room that explains all about the history of the castle – and the first sight of the beautiful roses that would be evident in the rooms from there on in: ![]() The Queen’s Room was very understated: ![]() In the Queen’s Gallery, the displays were a little more obvious: The courtyard outside the gallery looked beautiful: ![]() Then it was into King Henry VII’s Banqueting Hall: On the way towards the staircase up to the first floor, we came across roses that fascinated us – the blooms had a series of colours in them and they were beautiful. We couldn’t stop taking photos of them! There were more displays at the top of the stairs... But perhaps my favourite display, in terms of the colours used, was in the seminar room: The bedrooms had a variety of different colour schemes on display: When we got downstairs, there was a beautiful display of deep crimson roses, which reminded me of our wedding day, as that was the colour of my bouquet. And that’s how the flower festival at Leeds Castle looked. It really was beautiful and worth the visit.

| I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your photos. It especially brightened my day - it is raining and dreary!
