|  Knoebels v.2.0 - a high-tech and new and (possibly) improved TR I've been meaning to post this for a few days! I had to figure out how it would work first.  Since Jennifer, Crystal, and a few others are taking advantage of the new blog feature on the boards to post their iPhone photo blogs, I thought I'd take a swing at blogging on the boards for us in-betweeners instead of posting a TR. There have been concerns for the last few years (now that there are so many epic TRs) about having to scan through all the posts in a TR thread to read the actual TR. I had this idea that the PassPorter Blog could solve that. The author of a TR blog can read all the great comments (and readers can, too, I believe, if they choose to click on the comment section of each installment), but when you click on the blog link, you get the newest installment of the TR at the top of the page.  This is a new feature at the moment, so this is a kind of blog beta for the time being and I'm playing the guinea pig. Hopefully, some of the other PassPorter Guides will also post their upcoming TRs as blogs. And if all goes well, it could be available to all members shortly.  Feedback will help us help you make the best use of the new blog feature.Here's a link to my experimental pre-TR blog: Knoebels Trip Report - August 2008 This is a link to my main blog page: PassPorter Community - Message Boards and Forums - Chrissi (It looks very similar to the TR page at the moment, but that will change as I add more categories and TRs.) There's also a link to it in my signature. I'm not posting in it daily yet.  We leave in 9 days and I'll be making pre-trip notes periodically, so check my signature for updates often. My DH will be on-call while we're away, so his employer has kindly supplied us with something called an air card, I believe - which supposedly guarantees we'll have internet access the whole trip. Translation - (slightly delayed) live TR updates. I look forward to your feedback and suggestions. Let me know if you have any technical problems and I'll report them.

| Posted a brief update just now. Knoebels 2008 - Pre-Trip Report pg. 4 I'm not sure how this will work in the future. I think you'll be able to subscribe to the blogs or possibly request email notifications about updates. Bare with me, please. I have no idea if anyone is reading it yet. More to come later today!

| Small world What a "Small World" (no pun intended) after all. We live 20 mins. from Knoebel's. I did not think Knoebel's was such a big deal for those who live across the state. Then again, it always rates high for park food and the coasters. I like taking my kids there instead of fairs (it's cheaper). Have fun on your trip.

| A few pictures to whet your appetites for the TR... DJ and Grammy Patty both had issues with the Chinese Finger Trap they won at the arcade.   My MIL and me - you'd look like this after 5 days with your MIL, too!  DJ - begging to get down off the dragon's back (from which only moments before he'd shouted "I'm the king of the world!"  ). DJ showing off his crystal quartz treasure after panning for gems at the Mining Museum.  A little kitchy fun before lunch so we'll remember the Alamo!  Walt and DJ in their #0 black Lusse Auto Skooter (a bumper car).
