| A hard day's touring in Liverpool A hard’s day touring! While working on my Portsmouth trip report I came across the photos I’d taken on our day in Liverpool at the start of January with my parents. Rather than do a full trip report, I’ll do it as a photo report, with some explanation of what you’re seeing. First, we headed to the World Museum Liverpool, which has historic treasures from around the world, along with an aquarium, section on space and touring exhibitions. It really has a bit of everything. One of the “banana sheep” that can be seen in Liverpool – they do have a banana sheep on display in the city, which represents Liverpool’s history of trade, believe it or not! The dioramas in the natural world collections Dinosaur skeletons Some of the aquarium’s inhabitants The museum exterior We then went for lunch at a pub overlooking the famous River Mersey: From there, it was back into the city centre to go shopping, but we found an interesting sight opposite the car park we parked in. It’s a piece of modern art as part of the City of Culture and you can find out more about it here. Then we walked over to the new Liverpool One shopping centre that only opened in summer 2008 – as you can see, they had some impressive Christmas decorations: A shot of the Christmas lights with the Radio City tower behind: Our final stop of the day was to see the Web of Light, another part of Liverpool’s City of Culture celebrations. For full details, click here. We’d seen photos and it looked stunning and it certainly was. Finally, a few photos of the frozen fountain that my parents own, which shows how cold it was when we visited. I love these photos and, although they’re not technically part of the day, I thought it would be fun to share them:

| Wow, cool pictures! I was especially intrigued by the one of the building...truly difficult for me to figure out at first. What a cool thing to share with all of us! Thanks!

| Great pics Cheryl!! The Christmas lights going over the street, that says Liverpool remind me of the Osbourne lights in DHS. Well, at least from the pics I see of the Osbourne lights, have actually never seem them either.
