It'll be interesting to see Cherry blossoms in Japan to the tree in our front yard which just lost it's blooms due to a storm. Our's from a seedling from the ones in Washington DC so I wonder if they're similar.

Hi Cheryl! I don't know why I didn't think to look here for a report from you before! I just read your entire report so far and I'm so excited for you! I think I know what tours you are on - I looked at the same hotel for Kyoto, but haven't had a chance to visit yet . You'll have to tell me everything when we meet up on Wed! I can't wait to meet you & Mark! Enjoy the rest of your time in Kyoto and have a safe trip to Hiroshima. See you soon!!!

Just a quick update from us - we went out to Nara yesterday and the temple out there was absolutely stunning. Well worth the trip.

Last night, we went back to Nijo Castle to see it at night and that was quite something - it was packed with Japanese wanting to see the cherry blossom trees, but despite that, we had a great time.

I can't believe we're leaving Kyoto later today - the bullet train again to Hiroshima.

If I get a chance, I'll add in a few photos to whet your appetite....
