Introducing: Las Vegas!

OK...So I had an awesome time :-)

We stayed @ the Mirage....Loved the retro theming of the rooms!

The 1st night we went to Margaritaville for dinner :-) Had us a few drinks and started walking the strip. We stopped at The Bellagio to watch the fountains.....Absolutely amazing! We stopped into Ceasars Palace to see about getting me a ticket to the Bette Midler show Tuesday night. My friends already had theirs :-) I got 2nd ROW from the stage!!!!!!!!!! We stopped into the Forum Shoppes @ Ceasars and my friends had Gelatto that was yummy! Two of those and a water was almost 30.00!!!! OMG! We were tired by 10pm (it was midnight our time)....

Tuesday we strolled over to the Venetian and walked through it and the shoppes there.... We ate at a new buffet in the new Planet Hollywood towers....It was actually really good! We decided to go back to the hotel after that to get glammed up for The Divine Miss M ;-) We got to the theatre...I got a daquiri (strawberry) and we took our seats! I could not believe how close I was to her! She was fantabulous of course! I recommend this show to anyone who does not get easily offended! :-) She was very gracious to the audience....I am pretty sure she will be retiring after this Ceasar's stint.....I bought a glass and a new CD after the show :-)

Wednesday we all slept in....We decided to walk down to the M&M & Coke store :-) I bought a glass at each store and two of our friends were leaving that day....They went back to the hotel and we walked over to the Luxor....I had read that they had The Titanic exhibit and I really wanted to see it! We bought tickets to that and the Bodies exhibit...We went into the Titanic exhibit and it was truly amazing....I was awestruck! It was a moving exhibit....If you ever get to see it.....GO! We then decided to go ahead and see the bodies exhibit...This exhibit- WOW! It is real human bodies stripped down to bones, muscles, internal organs....You name it! A terrific science exhibit! It shows and tells you every thing about every part of your body......I loved it! There is a room with embryo's at pretty much every stage of development....This part was sad but very interesting....There is a door that you can go through and not have to visit this part of the exhibit.....

Thursday we were leaving :-( We had all day to gamble....LOL! I took 100.00 and put it in a machine and started losing....LOL! I moved to another slot called "The Price Is Right".....I dwindled down to about 45.00....I got to go to the "showcase"....I won them both! That was 245.00! WOOHOO! I am not totally stupid so I cashed out.....LOL! I put another 100.00 into another kind of slot machine and of course started losing....again! LOL! I cashed out and went BACK to the Price Is Right.....I hit the Showcase AGAIN!!!! That was another 250.00!!! WOOHOO!!!! What a way to end our stay right?! I made out with 400.00 extra :-)

Then we went to the airport.....We could not find our tickets.....We HAD to purchase new ones, even though Southwest looked up our reservations and saw that we had tickets to Nashville that were paid for....etc...etc...I was particularly very unhappy with this.....I thought they would offer to reprint them for a fee.....NO!!!! Needless to say, we spent over 500.00 on ONE WAY tickets to Nashville!!!!!!!!!!! Nice, since the economy is SO crappy right?! I sent Southwest a very nice - I am changing airlines and do not care what the cost is letter....We will see how they respond...So far I have received an automated letter and one from a very nice employee who was sending it off to someone higher up! We boarded our flight 2 hours later....We were home by midnight :-)

I was going through my luggage the next morning...I went through it at the airport too but didn't see anything....There were the tickets!!!!!!!!!!!! We can exchange them, thankfully! So our trip ended pretty well :-)

I was in Vegas the same time you were! We stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau, which is our home time share.

We played a lot of Pai Gao poker because we could play for hours on $40. I did win $87 on a penny slot, though!

The highlight of the trip was seeing KA. I so want to be a performer in KA when I grow up!

Glad you had a great time!

Yeah, we've been trying to get rid of them for years (and years), but free enterprise and all that....blah blah blah! They back off quickly if you just shake your head or say "No". If you know what they are ahead of time, then you know to ignore them and they won't bother you (they don't want to get into trouble because if they are a nusiance they could get kicked out). Problem is, most people don't know what it is, so they take them.

Glad you had a great time in our fair city! Come again and tell your friends! Ever since President Obama dissed Vegas in January, we've been losing convention business left and right. It may not only be because of him, but our mayor sure tried to pin it solely on him!

Sorry about the tickets. Did you have actual tickets and not e-tickets? That's the only thing I can think of, because e-tickets allow you to re-print if necessary. I didn't know SWA still did physical tickets....

Thanks for the advice.....yeah we have been there before and if you ignore them they will back off.......some people don't know what they are and take them and then realize what they are and drop them on the street, we noticed that......should be considered a littering problem and maybe get rid of them......as if they sidewalk is not crowded enough(at least when we were last there) you have to walk around the people giving these things out.....geesh is right......lol

The fountain is fun, but we never have seen a flower garden, it is inside?? How interesting I will have to put that down on my list......

Thanks for sharing the info with me...............

It is inside the Bellagio, just off the check-in area (with the Chihuly glass ceiling) and it's called The Conservatory. They change it regularly (more than seasonally), and it's become very grandiose. Chezp has some great pictures in her Las Vegas TR from October.
