| Your beautiful pictures are slowly winning my DH round to a Tokyo trip...please keep them coming!! And when he saw the part about not tipping, he practically ran to fetch the suitcases and Japanese phrase book, such is his dislike of compulsory tipping in the US! ![]()

| That hotel is absolutely gorgeous! And all of the CMs (and the citizens themselves) just seem so nice and polite.

| Wednesday 8 April – part nine: black sesame mousse??? After about 20 minutes, the parade started to come past and all I can say is that this knocks spots off Spectromagic. It was head and shoulders above any of the night-time parades, be it Spectromagic or the Electrical Light Parade that we’ve seen in the States. Take a look at the photos and you’ll see what I mean. By the time that was finished, it was 8.15 and, although we headed into Tomorrowland to get some photos, we didn’t go on anything, because a) Buzz still had long lines, it seems to be very popular out here and b) we wanted to see the fireworks. So, we headed to the seats in front of the castle. How civilised to have seats to watch the fireworks from. We got a great spot and sat there to wait. By now, it was pretty cold in the wind and sadly, the wind took its toll, with the announcement coming that the fireworks had been cancelled tonight. It was done first in Japanese and we heard the groan and could guess what had happened. We started to head out of the park, not sure where we would eat and then we saw the Crystal Palace and thought we’d try there. I hadn’t done much research on the table service restaurants at Tokyo Disney, after learning that there were no priority seatings online (Donna told me that she had seen a sign on the way in today, saying that they know did that though) and that there are usually huge lines to get priority seatings at the start of the day. In fact, those are often longer than the lines for the rides. I wasn’t going to miss rides to get restaurant bookings, but we thought we would give it a go. The price seemed reasonable 2900¥ (about £21 each) and we asked the guy on the door if they were still open, as it did say that they were open until 8.45 and it was now about 8.35. He nodded, so in we went. It was a bit odd to walk in there and not see the topiaries of our four Hundred Acre wood friends, but apart from that, a lot of it was the same. OK, so the food was different, with curry on offer and some more exotic dishes, most of which I tired and most of which were fine, except for the black sesame mousse, which really was as disgusting as it sounded and looked in the photos: Feeling stuffed, we headed out of there, feeling that we had got good value for money and glad that we had after all been able to try a table service restaurant at Tokyo Disney. We headed out of the park and caught the monorail back to Tokyo DisneySea, stopping for a few more photos on the way. When we got back to the Hotel MiraCosta, I have to say that I preferred the look of this in the day. Somehow the lights looked a little false… We browsed the shops, with Mark getting a MiraCosta hat and me falling in love with MiraCosta Minnie. If there’s room in the case, she is so coming home with us. We got a few shots of the shop and the lobby area: Inside the shop MiraCosta Mickey and Minnie! Inside the lift See what I mean about the hidden Pinnochios? From there, it was back to the room for more uploading of the hundreds of photos (and I mean hundreds!) that we had taken today. Today we walked 5.78 miles. The weather today was hot and sunny with temperatures in the 70s. The best thing today was Hotel MiraCosta. The worst thing today was the fireworks being cancelled. The funniest thing today was Mark with Grumpy. Today we tried the Crystal Palace And the result was it was very good food and good value for money. The most magical moment today was Mark finally meeting Grumpy. Next: Disney theming moves to a new level
