Another vote for those Gold Passes. Definitely worth it for those front seats.

Were you nervous at all when it came your time to ask a question? Well, I guess after you've been cuddled by Michael Shanks, asking a question wouldn't be too hard.

I love all the SG-1 stories; the cast and crew seemed like they had a blast making the show and I love to read all the interviews I can find online. But I'll bet hearing them 'up close and personal' was very special.

By chance did Michael mention anything about Christopher Judge? I've heard the two of them are t-r-o-u-b-l-e when they get together.

I was still nervous when I asked the question. Not so much because of Michael (well, maybe that, too ) but also because I'm not good in front of, oh, 500+ people...

Glad to hear you liked my partial recap of the talk! Michael didn't mention Christopher Judge as nobody asked. But yeah, the two of them together are supposed to be a lot of fun.

Sunday, July 19 – Part one: They’re called „Goldbären“

I was up even before the alarm went off at 8am. So after showering and packing our stuff, we left the hotel before 9am. With our huge suitcase in tow we grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonald’s. I was antsy to get to the convention – driving my DH nuts We got to Earl’s Court 2 around 9:30am and walked straight in. We had some trouble finding the coat room but eventually managed to get rid of our suitcase. The most important thing: Peter Facinelli had finally made it to London! The organizers had add an additional photo shooting with him in the morning, and since I had two photo shoot tickets, I decided to use one for the extra shooting in the morning and the other one for the later shooting. Manuel opted to wait outside the photo area. I went in and sure enough, there he was! Peter looked amazing, and he was so relaxed with his (mostly female ) fans. It took the photographer barely 15 seconds for each photo, so the line moved quickly. When it was my turn, I (shyly) asked for a hug picture. It was great, although I have to admit that Alex Meraz was a LOT more buff! All too soon, it was time for me to let go of Peter again. This is the picture I got:

I met up with Manuel and together we headed over to the autograph tables. I was eager to get to Alex Meraz, so that was our first stop. Today, I had brought a bunch of small packages of Haribo gummi bears along to give to the guests. I had given a pack to Justin the day before already. While waiting in line to get to Alex, I saw that Justin, who was seated next to Alex, wasn’t busy at the moment. So right before we got to Alex, I gave two more packs of gummi bears to Justin, since he seemed to like them. He thanked me and told me he ate them right away the day before.

When it was our turn to meet Alex, I also gave him two packs of Haribo gummi bears. He opened and tried one right away:

He liked them as well. When I told him they’re from Germany, he asked me what it said on the package. I told him they’re called “Goldbären” ;-) I then handed him my Twilight t-shirt for him to sign, along with a piece of paper that had my name on it. He asked me how to pronounce it, and when he said it, I told him that he was the first American to ever get it right right away! He flashed me a huge smile and, with a wink, told me “Well, I’m Native American!”

Here he’s asking about my name.

Signing my t-shirt.

And here are Justin’s and Alex’s autographs. As you can see, I had asked Justin to write “La Push, baby” the day before.

He is such a nice guy!

When I told Alex I wanted a picture with him and Manuel, he turned to him and said that I’m gonna measure them up against each other....

This is the free pic I got with my autograph.

Petra got two photos with Alex (one each day):

Next up: Michael Shanks. This time, we had him sign the pic both of us took together with him yesterday. He couldn’t hide a smile when he saw the pic:

And this is what he wrote:

As you can see, Michael also got his share of Goldbären! I asked him who he liked working better with: Richard Dean Anderson or Ben Browder. He said that they’re both very different people. Rick is funnier but Ben’s also great to work with.

These are the Stargate pics we got with our autographs over the weekend:

And here’s a pic Petra took with Jewel Staite (from Stargate Atlantis) that day:

Since Peter Facinelli was seated next to Michael, we saw him return to his autograph table after the photo shoot and decided to get in line right away. Unfortunately, due to the massive amount of people who wanted autographs from him, no photos were allowed at the autographing table. I had Peter sign my t-shirt. While I felt rushed at the time, I love what he wrote:

Some more Carlisle pics:

Around 11am, we took a short break in the talk area B before it was time for my photo shoot with Justin Chon. Again, I asked for a hug pic. Justin is a fun guy, but boy is he tiny! I was afraid I’d break him if I hugged him too hard!

Afterwards, we went back to Alex’s table for another autograph. This time I had him sign my picture from the photo shoot the day before. When he saw our hug picture, he asked me how it was hugging him , and I said great – of course! Then, looking at Manuel, he added, “And you were watching.” As we were turning to go, I realized I had forgotten to ask the question I wanted to ask him. So we waited till the next people in line were done and asked the ones behind if we could go back and quickly ask the question. The line wasn’t bad at the time so nobody did mind. I turned to Alex and told him that I had forgotten to ask him where he’s from. He said Arizona. When I told him that I’d always thought that Native American tribes were mainly located in the North of the U.S., he said that quite the contrary is the case and that there are even lots of tribes in Central and South America as well. Alex seemed to really enjoy talking about this.

We then walked around the convention a little more and took a couple pictures with some strange creatures wandering around:

Note to self: Don't get too close to freaky looking aliens!

We also bought Stargate keychains and batches:

Since my back needed a break, we headed up to the food court’s upstairs dining area. We grabbed a table by the windows and took pictures of the hustle and bustle downstairs:

Abour half an hour later, we made our way through the masses, back to Peter’s autograph table. I got a baseball that I’d brought along signed. Peter seemed a bit distracted. His bodyguard asked him if he wanted to have lunch before the upcoming second photo shoot but he just said no, he’s fine, and pretended to sign the bodyguard’s face Peter’s assistant called him a “signing machine”. This chatter at least gave us a little extra time with Peter before he finished signing my baseball:

Next: YOU want a picture with Manuel???

Glad you finally got to meet Peter Facinelli, but I agree with you... Alex Meraz is more buff and beautiful! What a great idea to give them the gummi bears.

It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Sabine was my name in German class and unfortunately, that's about all I can remember.

Hey, if you ever get over here for an Alaskan cruise you can take a side trip to Forks, the town Twilight takes place in. It's a beautiful drive around the penninsula of Washington.

Another great morning - how can it NOT be with all those delicious guys around? I do not know how Manuel is handling all your hugs. Did he get a hug from Jewel?

As a side, I see that here in Nashville we're having a Twilight Con in January, and our special guest will be Peter Facinelli!!! I think I will have to check this out...
