I hope you blow up and frame some of your landscape photos. They are gorgeous. Love all the wildlife. I am a big moose fan and am always amazed how often they walk down the middle of the road. I think 80% of the moose I have seen have been walking right down the middle of the road.
More incredible photos! I love moose also... when I was living in Maine I once looked out my living room window to see a moose standing on my front lawn staring right at me! He/she ambled away and strolled down the street headed towards the harbor.
Loving all the pics, Marnie. We are leaving in 2 weeks for Vancouver then Alaska, and I can't wait!!!!!
Funny coincidence -we both live in CT, and both love WDW. And we have choosen similiar non-WDW vacations around the same time twice ; AK this summer, and we took at trip to San Diego around the same time as your SoCal trip. We must think alike.

Day 3 – Eielson Shuttle and Jeff King’s Husky Homestead Tour – Monday June 27th - Part 3
After dinner, we headed back out on the Savage River road to see if we could see anything. I think we saw some moose, if that.
Then it was time for our Jeff King’s Husky Homestead tour. I booked this mainly for the kids (Alexa) as I know she would love this and it would break up all the nature sightseeing. Jeff King is a 4-time Iditarod winner, and has his kennel/house right near Denali. When we arrived on their shuttle bus, we were greeted with husky puppies to hold. Cute does not describe these puppies which were about 2 weeks old. Jeff King talked for a few moments, then his head trainer talked for about 20 minutes, then Jeff King did his presentation about the race, life in Alaska, and anything else for about 45 minutes. During his second talk, the kids could go out and have “puppy time” with the puppies instead of having to listen to him, which they much preferred. I felt this was well worth the money. The kids loved the puppies and sled dogs, it was interesting to hear Jeff’s story, and he was a great speaker.
Matt’s pictures…….
That finished up just after 9, and we decided to call it a night since we had been up so early. I had wanted to go back to Savage River to see if we could spot Mt. McKinley one more time, but that was not meant to be! I think I was asleep by 9:30, with the sun streaming in thru the window! Didn’t bother me tonight, I was too exhausted!
Those puppies are sooooo cute!! How many requests did you have from the kids to get one?! My DD would have been begging!
Crazy to realize it was 9 pm! That's what it was like in St. Petersburg last summer - sunset at 11:15 pm or something nutty like that. Glad you were tired enough to sleep despite the sun streaming in.
Enjoying the report!
