Wow....thanks for all the pics. Love, love, love the Olympics. I can still remember watching Greg Louganis whack his head on one of the boards during a dive, and then coming back and winning after getting sutures.
Wish the Olympics would come to our area....DC has been trying for years but no such luck.

Oh my goodness - I remember that as well, it was terrifying.
I hope one day you guys get it. Surely as time goes by, you must have more of a chance - I say that, as so soon after Atlanta and LA, I can understand the States not getting it, but the longer it goes on from there, I'd say your chances must increase. I don't know when the bidding to host the 2020 Olympics gets underway?
UPDATED - I've just found this website - candidate cities for future Olympics. Scroll down to 2020 - admittedly it's pretty much all rumour, but it makes fascinating reading.
Wow, football isn't sold out?! Don't tell my DH & DS - they'll be booking a flight before I finished the sentence!
The aquatics center looks great! How fun to see the diving in person - that's one of my favorite events.

I know - amazing it didn't sell out, as it's our "national" game. As they say, strange but true.....
Great pics! It sounds like you guys had a fun day.
I have to say, platform diving makes me nervous. For one, my mind flashes back to Greg Louganis hitting his head on the board and I always fear a diver is going to knock their head on the platform (they get close enough sometimes!).
Also, I have flashbacks of boot camp when we had to take our swimming test which included jumping off of a 12 foot platform down into the pool below . . . and I am not a strong swimmer. It was a "Panic city. Population - Sarah" moment that still comes back to haunt me.

Oh boy - that sounds like quite an experience!
We heard someone say that one of the British girls who was competing had done the same thing and hit her head in a recent competition.
Wow wonderful!!! One of my dreams is to see the Olympics live! Wanted to go to the 1996 in Atlanta, but being only 19 and having to work and pay for school, I did not have the money . Trust me, next summer Olympics we are goin to do our best to get some tickets!!! (My son is a huge fan as well and wants to go just as bad!!!)
