If you haven't already (and I'm still catching up with all your adventures), you need to put an Artic cruise to Svallbard / Spitsbergen on your list.
Really? Wow, something I hadn't really thought of before. I've seen them advertised. Maybe one day in the long future... there's so much else on the list to see first!
Great ending to a wonderful trip report, Chez! I'm still curious, was this cruise similar to the Alaska Disney cruise you took?
A lot of the scenery was similar, although I would say that there was probably more to see along the fjords than in Alaska in terms of houses and land. With quite a bit of Alaska, it was in open water and beautiful as it was, there wasn't that much to see, if that makes sense?
Finally finished up with your last post and final thoughts. What a wonderful cruise, I must say that the views were beautiful and i loved seeing the little towns. Seeing the glacier was sad...when you realize how much has melted, but if still it was beautiful to see. I am so happy that you met such wonderful people to share your time with, sounds like a Baltic Cruise definitely might be in the cards. Thanks for taking us along on your wonderful journey
I'm sorry it took so long but I finally found my pictures from 2004 when we were at the Jostedaalsbreen glacier. Sorry about the quality but I hope you can see how much more glacier there was back then!
We were able to climb up onto the glacier (all the way to the top), with spikes underneath our boots, a pickaxe, and tied to a rope. It was amazing!
