Otakon, A Japanese Anime and Video Game Convention
What is Otakon?
As stated above, it is a convention celebrating Japanese anime (animation), video games, and culture. It is similar to Comic Con except that it has a narrower audience.
If you're unsure if you've ever seen anime, consider shows like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Dragonball Z.
Not to mention the world famous movies by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli including Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Ponyo. Disney has been in charge of dubbing almost every Miyazaki film.

Special Plans
Cosplaying, of course! Many people who go to anime conventions dress up as their favorite characters from anime, video games, and even American works. This is called "cosplaying".

Belle (Beauty and the Beast - Blue dress) - maybe
Illya (Fate/Stay Night - School Uniform)
Saturday:

Sweetie Belle (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic)
Sunday:
Duria Hellsing (Fan character from Hellsing)
More information will be coming as the event grows closer. Also expect a TR with lots of pictures!
My costumes are all complete aside from Belle. I'm getting the final fitting for her the day before the con (eep! ) I also have to find comfortable black flats that won't fall off my feet. Good luck. I was looking at Tevas. In worst case senario I'll wear my Mary Janes and screw up the whole look.
I would have liked to get new bloomers for Ponyo but being inept at sewing has left me with no new bloomers. I'll have to wear my old ones that aren't very nice looking.
Other than that, oh my gosh so excited! I'll be seeing my boyfriend for the first time since June 2011!
