That's what I call a nice surprise! I think it is just one more thing to show what a top notch TA you found.
Ahhhhh, I see it now... Lions at sunrise, a mani-pedi back at the luxurious lodge, followed by an exotic mid-day meal, a restful nap, back to safari, dinner next to an open campfire, and a good night's sleep...
Wow, what a great little package to get you excited for your trip!
Those spa treatments sound amazing, you definitely should splurge and get some done Those prices can't be beat, around here some of the nicer spas charge closer to $100 for hour long massages, and $50 for just a pedi!
I thought those prices seemed very reasonable! The package was a great surprise.

I think I'll be doing that one!

As if I weren't excited enough, that package sent me over the top!

I get antsy even on the flights to Orlando so I cannot picture myself on a flight to South Africa, even the idea of Europe gets me a bit nervous...sooner or later though I will have to take the plunge.
I find I take benadryl sinus which really does help me sleep and at the same time help with the pressure i get from flying as I guess the decongestant helps with that so you might look into those as well.
I think the layover will probably be a good thing, not only will you get to spend time with Cheryl and Mark but it will keep you busy and hopefully by the time you get on the plane for the long flight you will be able to get tired after some reading and you can sleep most of the flight.
What a great trip you have planned with your friends and granddaughter...she is very lucky to have you. We will be there in the beginning of August as well, not sure when you will be heading down as if our trips overlapped I would love to get to say hi.
What an amazing gift from the TA - great way to get you even more excited about the trip. Those spa rates due sound very affordable...I think a mani / pedi sounds like a great idea.
Glad you got a chance to join in, Meg! I react very much like you to flights. As soon as I sit down I'm anxious to get off again, and just can't settle to really read or anything. Maybe, as people have suggested, knowing that it's a long flight will change my reactions. Benadryl does make me sleepy, so maybe that's what I'll do. The family trip is August 16-22. Would love to meet you and your girls!

I'll probably be posting at some point in another forum, asking advice. My husband and I are Disney experts (though not compared with Laurie!), but other than once when we went with a friend and her son, have no experience with taking kids to Disney. I suspect it'll be a whole new World. Very glad we'll have "grandma" with us!
It's definitely different thinking about the trip with Juliana. It does make you look at the parks in a new way-- we'll have to learn as we go, I guess!

The booklet is beautiful and I'm glad to hear I was right about the good prices.

I'm sure the whole spa experience is incredible. They have a spa at Camp Jabulani as well, but I think I'll have more time for the treatments at River Lodge.

I will! It's too bad I don't enjoy the massages and body wraps (too many parts of my body hurt when touched!), because there are some amazing-sounding treatments.

Definitely an unexpected extra. This TA is really wonderful. They do Africa and South America.
I love that the package even came with a bow! That was so thoughtful, and I agree with everyone else -- book a service! This is a trip of a lifetime, and you definitely deserve to pamper yourself!
What a fabulous surprise with the book! And I am trying to decide if I could justify the cost of the airfare and hotel by showing DH how much I'd be saving to go there for a mani/pedi and massage!!

I've pretty much decided on a mani-pedi, but am even considering something more exotic like a wrap of some kind.

I like the way your mind works, Colleen! My mother's financial logic went something like that. If she bought something on sale, she actually thought she'd "saved" the money and would go out and spend it! No wonder I book vacations like this with the training I had!

Actually, there is a website/blog I follow called Couponing to Disney and that is how she finances her yearly WDW for her family of four....just what you ladies are talking about. Any money she saves with sales or coupons, for things she normally buys she puts the "saved" money into her Disney fund.
