Snow White closing/Rumor (article links added to 1st post)
Has anyone heard of this? I didn't until this AM. But it is on a couple of other websites. They are speculating that Snow White is going to be closed. This is one of those classic Disney rides to me. I can't imagine that it would be done away with
I guess there is also a Disney press conference on Tuesday that some are saying they will talk about this. I don't usually hold my breath with Disney press conferences as more often then not they don't have info that interests me...Hmmm
I've heard the rumors, but nothing more at this point. Although it is not one of my favorite rides I do agree it is a classic and would not want to see it go.
Would it be closed due to the Fantasyland expansion? I'll have to look at the map again but for some reason I didn't think it was part of the section being changed.
I don't expect that it will be the focus of discussion on Tuesday. Tuesday's media event is part of the Disney Dream Christening. The agenda of the event is supposed to focus on the new MK fireworks show. I wouldn't be surprised if they also have something to say about the Fantasyland expansion, but it's not the kind of event where they talk about things that would be going away - they'd normally only focus on what's new.
The rumors have to do with the possibility of a new 7 Dwarfs mine ride/coaster in Fantasyland. If that does happen, I'd expect they would close Snow White's Scary Adventure, because normally they only have one attraction per land (and usually, per park) dedicated to a particular Disney film. So, if the 7 Dwarfs get a ride, Snow White would almost definitely lose hers (I hope they at least save her a seat).

Um... What? I know Wishes was gone for the summer...but forever? Any more details you have would be appreciated.

They need to do something like this as long as it's a kiddie coaster so Fantasyland's high number of kids can enjoy it. I can take SWSA or leave it...mostly leave it.
To me, although SWSA is a classic, it is so similar to WtP and PPF that I think a new, more exciting ride (like the dwarves mine "coaster") would be a good addition.
And "new MK fireworks" SAY WHAT?! I *love* Wishes! I know time marches on and it's probably time for a new show but still...pouty face.
Well , I'll cross my fingers that they hold off till 2012! We get back to the World in Nov 2011, and my kids haven't done this ride yet. (big chickens) I haven't been on myself, in years (since my chickens won't go on) and would love one last trip! (and of course then I can take some pics to remember it by! I'm so glad we snapped a few off before Mickey and Minnie's houses went away!!)

My apologies, I misspoke. It won't be a new fireworks show. Wishes continues. They'll be presenting "The Magic, the Memories, and You," the castle projection show of photos taken by PhotoPass photographers and others, which runs just before Wishes.
