| This day (July 22) in Disney history July 22, 1994 The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, purportedly housed in the landmark Hollywood Tower Hotel, opened in the Disney MGM Studios park at WDW. Looming at the end of Sunset Boulevard, the ride is partly a tribute to Rod Serling's landmark television series and partly a unique thrill and chill ride! Be the end of 2002, it would be updated four times, and it would become the first attraction ever to be entirely in the computer's control. The most recent version allows the computer to set the drop and recover sequence randomly, so that each time guests ride the attraction, they see, feel and even smell something different.
