| July 26 in Disney history July 26, 1951 Alice in Wonderland had its world premiere in London's Leicester Square Theatre, two weeks before its U.S. release. Although the critics were fairly tolerant, the film was not a hit on either side of the Atlantic, and its failure was another blow to the studios' finances. By some estimates, it lost $2 million, more than canceling out the profits from Cinderella. It has gradually become a standard, thanks to fine detail animation; the personality of such characters as the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, and Queen of Hearts; and the story's sheer familiarity. | Ding Ding Ding - we have a winner! You are right Jennifer! Ed and Keenan Wynn were the father/son team in both movies!
