| Disney Offers Refunds on Baby Einstein Products Apparently, to appease parents who were going to sue because their babies aren't smarter after watching these videos, Disney is offering a refund on Baby Einstein Products. The Associated Press: Disney expands refunds on `Baby Einstein' DVDs Come on ... are there really people out there who really believed that their child really would BE an Einstein if they watched these videos? I'm sorry ... I'm just amazed at this.

and how the heck would go about determining how smart they were before and after watching Baby Einstein to begin with? | |

| My DD watches them but I don't feel that she is any smatter because of it. I love that they have classical music and art. Sueing the company is unbelievable.

it's, unfortunately, the American way... remember McDonald's lost a suit because they didn't have warning label that the coffee in the cup was hot.

| Now that's just ridiculous (echoing everyone elses sentiments, it appears, lol). I got the Baby Einstein DVD set, but only because I found it at CostCo for $10 for an 8 DVD set. DD wasn't even interested in them. At 2 months old she could care less about Baby Einstein... but when I had Batman Begins on, she sat for the entire length of the movie and was riveted to the tv. That wasn't a fluke, either. I bought it, and every time I watched it (I LOVE that movie) that kid was glued to the screen. I'm not sure what that says about her, lol! But yeah, I liked that it was classical music for her (she does love classical still at 3 1/2) but I never once thought it would make her smarter. Gotta love people...

| Good grief. Sadly, why am I not surprised by this? I don't think anything will surprise me anymore - people seem to sue over anything. ![]()

| I can't believe they are recalling this product. Who would really believe that a video would make your kid smarter? I did use the Baby Einstein videos and CD's occasionally for DD but only because of the classical music in the background. She would usually fall asleep about 5 minutes into the baby Mozart soundtrack. Hey, Mozart is now her favorite composer and she loves to play his songs on the piano. Maybe it was because she watched those videos as an infant.

| i think recall is a rather harsh word and that's being put out by the opposition. products are recalled for safety, not satisfaction guarantees.

| My DD (18months) loves the ABC DVD and it has taught her the rhythm of the song. I don't believe we'll be returning it, but I do think the recall is crazy.
