| 20K Lagoon Rumors Back From Screamscape: Quote:
Sounds like wdwmagic might have an update comming too that says it won't be anything nearly as fun as "Fire Mountain" (at least in the short run). But that could still allow for something big in 2006-2007. | |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back Thanks for the the info! How exciting! I think that Flik's Fun Fair would make for a great addition at AK. It fits well with it's fun theme, cute attractions, etc. I think it would provide a niche that is kinda missing from AK -- something for the younger kids to really enjoy. As for the use of 20K -- I am all for something, anything, really! -- to go into that empty spot. It is time for someone to get the ball rolling and get busy. | Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back I've been hoping for a little mermaid "under the sea" type attraction in the lagoon, or a re-vamped 20,000 leagues would be even better. Really, anything would be better than what they have going on there now. Flick's fun fair sounds like a winner. |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back WDWMagic posted it's update here. Sounds like Mermaid Lagoon may be comming from Tokyo Disney. Just checked out a little video of it in the TDR section at barrybedford.com. Not sure what to make of it. Deffinitely better than the empty Lagoon that's there now, but the rides seem pretty much identical to what's already in Toon Town and Fantasyland...just themed to the Little Mermaid. There's a kiddie coaster with a track that looks exactly like the Barnstormer, teacups ride, a spinner, etc. I suppose it might help with some of the lines in the area though. And if it's a hit with the kids you can't really argue with that. Still, seems a bit close to what's already there. If you check out the video, what do you think? The other update is that Flik's Fun Fair (DCA) may be going in at AK (Camp Minnie-Mickey area). There's a great review (w/pictures) of the Fun Fair at dcacentral.com here. Described as a copy of TDR's Mermaid Lagoon only themed to?...Flik of course I guess Disney's decided there's a need for a couple more areas for the little guys. Which always makes sense. Themewise, the Fun Fair looks like it would fit really well in AK. Plus, I think the rides in DinoRama are different enough to make Fun Fair unique in AK. Which I guess is why the Fun Fair makes more sense to me than Mermaid Lagoon. Looks like we probly get both though. And just about anything's better than an empty Lagoon [ 07-26-2003, 12:51 PM: Message edited by: mattjs ] |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back I just read this too Matt! I've seen the Mermaid attraction on a Travel Channel special of Tokyo DisneySea, and it looked cool. Anything would be better than a character meet at the old 20K. I'm so glad they are open to adding new attractions to the theme parks! |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back Sounds as if Disney have got some interesting projects in development, but I do agree, something under the sea, perhaps involving the Little Mermaid, would be a great use of that lagoon... |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back Screamscape reported earlier this week that future plans of this attraction are to be discussed this week. Wonder if this could be brought up next week at the press event. I doubt it, probably too soon to announce. I really really really hope Disney does something with this area! Tomorrowland needs some more attractions. |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back I've been watching the different rumors about this area for a while. It would be nice if they really are discussing what to do this week that they have an announcement at the press event next week. |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back Here's hoping Disney really does do something wonderful with this unused space. I still miss the old 2000 leagues attraction. It may have been rather hokey but I still loved it! Joy |

| Re: 20K Lagoon Rumors Back I don't understand why they don't put in an Atlantis type attraction. It looks pretty much set up for it and it could probably be built on the same architecture. |
