Please, please, please, please let it be open by June 2008 so we could go there for dd's 13th birthday on our next trip. We are huge pirate fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think pirates will be as big with girls as they are with boys.

An additional table-service restaurant at MK is a near-necessity thanks to the Dining Plan. So far, they've operated El Pirata y El Perico (the counter service eatery across from PoTC identified as the "peak-crowd dining area" by Screamscape) and Tomorrowland Noodle Station/Tomorrowland Terrace as temporary buffet restaurants. While all rumors are unofficial until announced, there's a lot of credibility (and practicality) to this notion, so I give the rumor high marks for probability. Now, it's possible that this location may also turn out to be a temporary dining venue, but I think it's time for a new full-time establishment.

The space by Swiss Family Treehouse is the Adventureland Verandah, and it is periodically used as a catering/private events venue and for public events like MVMCP (photo location). A full-time Pirate buffet would probably be perfect for the space. It's already tropically-themed, so they probably don't have to do a lot to dress it up. The biggest problem Disney has these days opening new dining locations, etc. is finding the staff to operate them.

I'd put money down on this being a buffet or family-style restaurant, which are considered table-service under the dining plan. The average value of a buffet/family-style meal is about $7/person less than an average full-service meal. The more buffets Dining Plan guests attend, the more profitable the Dining Plan is for Disney.

This would be so cool for both boys and girls and an absolute stroke of genius for Disney - while little boys attend the "Princess" meals with their sisters they probably don't really enjoy them much (or won't admit that they do anyway) My girls (and I think a lot of little girls) would absolutely LOVE a Pirate meal and would be begging to go even though they don't have a brother (if I'm being honest I would LOVE a pirate meal too !!)

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will become a reality. I think it would be great to have a pirate themed meal.

It's about time! I hope this doesn't go to the wayside like the Toy Story theme. That was a disapointment

Wow, that would be cool! I think this would be good for a later trip for us though, as I think DD will be more into Pooh characters now.

This would be great, Now if they could get Orlando Bloom to be there I'd eat there every meal of my trip.

It would be cool if it opened by September 07, but I'd be happy with Christmas or New Years 2007.
