Rumor about MVMCP perk

There's an article on JimHillMedia.com that says the free picture that is included in the MVMCP tickets will be discontinued this year:

Jim Hill : Monday Mouse Watch : Disney puts the Scrooge to guests attending "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party"

Actually, the photo was discontinued last year. When we were there, we got a special PhotoPass (that we could use all trip) and we got a 50% discount off all the 5x7s we ordered. I actually preferred it to the free photo b/c I saved quite a bit with it.

The bit about Regis was funny, though...

hmmm..... that's a downer, but if they continue to do what they did for Dawn last year (as mentioned above), I think that's a fair compromise.

the article does state it was discontinued last year. what it says is that a leaflet distributed amongst park brass provides wording to pacify guests who ask about the free photo as well as guest services having coupons for free photos for those who wish to complain more and makes fun of regis philbin.

it will be 5 years since our last MVMCP so I didn't realise that they'd already stopped the free button, and now the photo has gone too Do you think you'll just be able to have the photo's just added to your ordinary photopass, for cheap printing off-site, which would be even better value than the half price offer?

When we went in 2006 there was no photo just the photopass discount which was only valid for that card and for that NIGHT only.

they discontinued the mnsshp pix too a year ago-but, anyway,i liked the photopass discount because i had my mnsshp pix still in my online photopass account and added to cart with my xmas photos and got a discount on all saving $80 -far better than the 1 free pic. the valid one night is a gimmick, i didnt -neither did my mom-use that night and it worked-how would the computer know what night you went-they just say that 2 get u 2 buy- fyi

that was an apparent glitch last year which may or may not have been fixed.

but ultimately yes, the photos taken during the parties are photopass photos so they can be added to the online account and made to be part of the photoCD.

I really missed the free pic last year that use to be included with the purchase of the MVMCP tickets! Disney raises the price of the event each year and then eliminates things from the ticketed event! I was not happy about this

This will be my first MVMCP and I'm looking forward to it. I may or may not (probably not) do it again if I'm down there again for MF. The price is pretty hefty considering the park tickets as well.

The comment about Regis was funny but wonder if they were joking about the tree. I'm doing the Yuletide tour on the 5th and I hope the tree is up.

what happens with the tree is they temporarily place it by the rose garden for the parade taping. they then move it back into its normal spot afterwards.

The 2005 photo didn't look as good as previous years (at least mine didn't, the quality wasn't there). The Halloween Party pic from 2005 was very nice, though - and I miss that they are not doing that anymore. It was nice having a semi-professional looking photo taken.
