Question ? about December trip

We are going to Disney this December. Do the dining plan changes for 2008 start in January? Or is it like the new special theme for the year, and start in October 2007?
THANKS!!

We will NOT do the DDP in June '08. After looking it over adding tip and all would cost too much for the lowered price (whooo, big deal price down 1 whole dollar),
firs thought was the delux dining would be great, but unless you TS every meal, it would not be a bargain (and again adding a tip makes it so not worth it), I would not want to go to the world and go to 3 TS each day as it would cut down on fun times, also would not want to try and make ressies for signature dining daily to make it worth the $$, so no DDP for us, I think I will check out theDDE instead (esp. being a DVC now).
I hope Disney takes note of all those who are deciding to forego the DDP and will reinstate it to the former glory by the time our Dec. '08 trip rolls around.
'cmon Disney rethink this whole thing!

Well maybe Disney is making these changes to eventually not offer Dining Plan. My question at this point is Disney will be doing the bounce back during this year free dining for travel next year? IMO there's no way that 70$ dining plan will be free. I could never eat a 3 course meal a day!

Rumor is that as long as you check in by December 31, 2007, the old dining plan will carry you as late as January 15, 2008.
