| Official Disney Online Community? I was hopping onto disneyworld.com and was asked to take a survey. Apparently, WDW is considering a web site that will allow Guests to share their vacation experiences and discuss topics related to Walt Disney World Resort. There could be a message board, blogs, Q&A forums, etc. Sounds interesting.

| well, i wouldnt ever have a problem, as i never get irate about Disney (nothing makes me that mad when it comes to Disney)...knock on wood though...im lucky in that way i guess, i dont get mad on vacations almost ever, no matter where we go (from Laughlin for the weekend to WDW....) i am BIG on customer service too...many a matre d' here in Vegas has gotten an earful from me, and customer service reps dont like to get me on the phone when my orders get messed up......but i just dont get mad in Disney...ok, i just thought of 2 times: both were in Disneyland, one was on the Haunted Mansion, a woman was taking pictures with her flash, and i said *no flash photography* really loud and she stopped for a little bit, until the floating intrument room, then she did it again, and i said *rude* slightly louder, and they stopped the ride and the ghost host told her to stop...(i dont usually say anything, but she was clicking in rapid succession, and it was flashing in my eyes, which hurt. and the second time, in the seat right in front of me, a man answered his cell phone and proceeded to have a conversation about lunch through the entire Pirates of the Caribbean ride..and when we got off i told him he needed to learn manners.... neither of those had anything to do with DIsney perse tho.....but i digress this looks FREAKIN awesome.....im off to take this survery post haste!!!

| I think that would be great. Of course you would get the "Disney is an evil Company" people, but I'm sure the fans would take care of them. I also think that it would be a great opportunity for "us" to post our likes and dislikes. I also hope that it would be on it's own server, because sometimes it's very frustrating using the disney website. |

| I've encountered their surveys on the phone multiple times this week as I booked my marathon weekend trip last Sunday on Disney's website and have had nothing but problems ever since! I should've called directly to an agent or booked with one of the other travel agents, but noooo I thought it'd be easy to book it online this time. Big mistake! As soon as I entered my credit card number for the deposit and hit the button to take me to the next page where I would get my reservation number, the computer just sat there and wouldn't go anywhere. I waited and I waited and I waited, but to no avail it timed out and never got to that page. I wasn't sure if my reservation went through, so I called to speak to a Disney agent. They said it didn't go through and did it all over again with me. Needless to say Monday morning there were TWO deposits taken out of my checking account and when I called to inquire about this I found out I had TWO reservations as well. It took them all week and a couple of phone calls back to them to finally get my other deposit refunded to my account and get it all straightened out. Even though this experience wasn't the best, I still don't think I could be one of those people to gripe on Disney's site about Disney, as I think I pretty much live and breathe Disney, but I do recommend to others not to use their online booking tool!

| It would be a great site but I doubt as good and friendly as our trusty PP. I have never had a problem with any WDW stuff. Maybe a few tired non smiling CM's but they were never rude. Only problems were with the other visitors thinking they were the only ones that were on vacation and no one else mattered.

| It will be interesting; I'm certain they'll monitor it so they can start seeing what folks think about different things; maybe they'll start acting on suggestions (like Coral Reef, etc.)

| SOunds neat, I thought I heard they were thinking about a "Myspace" type of networking community, not just message boards.

| OMG - I can't imagine a more "deadly" thing for Disney to do. Ugh!! The sniping, the complaining, the arguing, the posturing, the arguments I hope they don't do it -- although, I admit that I'd check it out ![]() I know that I'm a proud PassPorter Stepford Wife, but I think it's a truly wonderful and unique place. I found it after being totally insulted, enraged, and mislead on a few other boards that I sampled when I went looking to plan my first family trip. When I found PassPorter (after finding the book at the bookstore), I let out a big, relieved sigh! Aaaaaaah.... this was the place for me. Eileen

| Disney would find a way to control the information! Some other boards I am a member of don't post messages right away...a monirator has to "approve" them before they are posted. I have a feeling that is probably what Disney would do. They are VERY aware of what is said on boards such as this. "Big Brother" is always watching.

| Hmmm. I don't know...I would check it out, for sure...but I'm doubtful of how well it would work. For example, if someone was writing a trip report or something similar to it and posted it, with something in it that wasn't true ("Too bad we didn't pay extra for the Fastpasses - those people got to cut lines all the time!" ). Would Disney take that out? It's not "dirty" but it's not true...and it's embedded in an entire report. And where do you draw the line between someone's opinion and something that's not true? Here's another example: say that Mickey is supposed to be in the Character Connection in Epcot, but one day he wasn't. Someone posts: "Just so you know, we went to CC and Mickey was not there. Disney lies!" Well. He wasn't, that day, but he generally is. Is Disney going to respond to every post like that? "Well, according to our records...Mickey was absent on March 11, but that was an isolated incident." Or would they let the other posters correct them, like usually happens on other boards? I wouldn't think Disney would want false infomation on their website about their products, but how well could you really control it when people are voicing their opinions? <<shrug>> I like the idea of having somewhere for suggestions on specific topics, though. Like, "Tell Disney What You Think About The New Disney Dining Plan!" That might would be helpful.

| I just don't see how people would be as free to post honest opinions like we are here on PP. <shrug> |
