Lightbulb What do you think?

What do you think Disney could do to make the parks, resort, service ETC. better? Do you think Disney is perfect in every way? and nothing is wrong with it. By your exsperience there what did you like or didnt you like that could be better. In August 2006 a big group of us went to Crystal palace buffet and it was Excelent food but the WORST service ever. I ordered a glass of water as did my grandmother to. Well the waitress brought me my water and left. So i was dehydrated i took and big drink DUH!. Well my grandmother asked the waitress 20 min later where her water was and what she did was reached over the table and grabbed my water and gave it to my grandmother to drink. I told her "mam that was my water" all she did was just walked away and said whatever. Another part of my group is allegec to the foods their and she ordered steamed broccli and shrimp.....We all know that makeing that stuff in our kitchen's at home its only and 20-30 min thing. NO she waited almost an hour for her food. So when she got it she didnt want it because she was so upset over it. We went and told the manager and all she said was sorry.
Once we left the resurant we went to MK Guest Services. They were really nice. What they did was fire the waitress and gave money to the person that was allergec to the food to get a nice meal. After that happend we enjoyed the rest of our day. The next day we got a call while we were at MGM (Now holywoood Studios.......WOW Wired) and they gave our whole party of 10 our table service back that we used at Crystal Palace. So instead of Pizza Planet half of us went to Sci-Fi and the other's went to Hollywood and Vine.......DELICOUS YUM! So we had bad service but they made up for it. Also i had 100 dollars in the safe and it was stolen while i was at the park. No one in my room didnt take at least they said they didnt but i belive them. What i did was i went to Pop Century's guest service and told them. What they did was check who has been in and out of our room that whole time at the park and did alot of investigating to. But they found nothing. I was upset but then i realized im at Disney so cheer up. I did and im glad that they did what they could for me..
Sorry for it being so long to. Hope to hear what you guys have to say.

HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!
Justin

Good question! Sorry you had a bad experience but glad they made up for it.
For the most part all my Disney experience's have been pleasant, a few problems here and there but nothing to complain about. I try, like you did to overlook it because it is Disney!
One suggestion though is to have some sort of transportation from resort to resort. I realize that this would be difficult but I'm sure they can figure it out.

We had a great time while we were there! The only issue I have is - I think they should make it more... larger family friendly. I have four kids so there are six of us in our party. Disney doesn't really have a lot of cost friendly options for such a large family. That being said, I am still making plans to go back.

We did have some minor problems in past trips...but they were taken care of to our satisfaction, we also had a couple of more major problems happen during the last two trips which were also resolved to our satisfaction. I don't think that any trip to the world can be necessarily totally problem free given that this place is so large and has so many parks, resorts and cast memebers...but Disney does it better than anyone based on our travel experiences...trust me we have had other travels that had major problems that were not resolved or at least not resolved in a manner that we were satisfied with! Disney is the best at trying hard to keep up satisfaction.

As to the post about Disney needing more large family accomodations...actually they do have some: The Disney Vacation Club villas. If you can not join the DVC to get these accomodations you can still rent out the villas for cash, or you can rent points from DVC members.
A 2 bedroom villa sleeps 8 people comfortably and they cost less than 2 rooms at a deluxe (although slightly more than 2 rooms at a moderate)...best feature of all of the villas: full kitchen facilities and laundry facilities in the rooms..well worth the extra cost of the rooms (villas)..check it out to see if it would work for you. Hope this helps some. You will save substantially by using the kitchen facilities in the villa too through meal preparations.

This option is extremely expensive as well unfortunately. Any option with Disney for large families is extremely expensive. You could rent a house 10 minutes away hundreds cheaper. I too wish they had some kind of value resort that fit a larger party but after going through many options with a travel agent none were even in my price range. But other than accomodations, they do well with everything else.

I think that the bus system could be improved with more direct routes instead of having to go to the TTC to get anywhere that isn't a park or DTD. That's about it.

We've had really excellent experiences at WDW with only minor bumps in the road. One trip to Universal Studios this past December showed the huge difference between Disney and everyone else. Disney achieves a certain friendliness, a certain welcoming atmosphere (you could say it's magical!), and Universal seemed, in my humble opinion, to be completely lacking in that department. Disney is as close to perfection as I've ever found. I truly appreciate what they do and the scale on which they do it.

When in Disney World it is an opportunity for me to leave the real world behind---and it works for me, until I must deal with the bus system.

We have had several things arise during vacations that disney, unlike any other vacation spot, has made go away and make you feel better about the situation. They have always been very calming and reassuring when something goes wrong. I never panic in disney when something does happen because of that. I honestly cant think of anything that would need improvement. Its always amazing to me that a facility that large has as little issues that they do have. They always seem to treat everyone equally no matter what resort they are staying in which to me is nice.

Disney does the best magical things through their staff in the parks and hotels. I only wish I had their enthusiasm all day, every day. Who am I to complain when I'm not so perfect at my job?
I also agree with the larger family living arrangements. There is no way I can afford to purchase two moderate rooms or a villa/cabin to fit my family of five. Our youngest is approaching 3yrs and we will be paying for family to travel with us, but what happens next trip? Mmmm I tried to talk DH into the campsites but maybe I could win the lottery (oops I'd better buy a ticket). Even the ASMo family suites are overpriced (unless you get the times of free dining). JMHO.

I've only had two problems at Disney, and neither was because of WDW itself. One was a guest who refused to scoot over in the doorway to let people out of the restroom and I said Excuse me several times, I just went through. I got called a dirty name(oh well!) and given dirty looks but hey when you say excuse me several times, what else are you going to do, eh??

And then, a frog dropped from a tree and landed on my head. Not funny. at least to me anyway. My niece was dying laughing and I thought she was going to wet herself. I thought no one saw it, but then a nice man and son mentioned it. Glad I could make them laugh!

I know you didn't think it was funny at the time but please try to re-run that through your head as if it were someone else. Come on! That had to be HILARIOUS. I'm cracking up and I didn't see it. My co-workers think I'm nuts right now.

Glad I could make you laugh! Seriously! Here's what happened:

My niece, Heather, and I were standing outside the laundry room at the Wilderness pool in the cabin area of Fort Wilderness, smoking(we've both quit since!), talking as usual. All of a a sudden, BAM something hit me on the head. I was dazed, looked at Heather, realized she didn't hit me and then i screamed because IT WAS STILL ON MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I'm saying "ew ew ew, gross" and she's doing this
After a look of disgust at me, the little frog hopped away.

I think the bus service at the Epcot resorts is a joke. It's gotten better, but it still is awful

I agree, the transportation system need an overhaul. Definitely make it easier for you to get from one resort to another.
