| Mold at Grand Floridian?! EWWW! From Fears of Sick Building Syndrome Sends Disney Guests Packing According to Dryout Inc: The Grand Floridian Hotel has discovered extensive mold growth in its hallways. Lurking beneath an elegant façade of expensive wallpaper, an unwelcome guest has been uncovered: mold. Careful examination reveals that the mold has spread to cover large areas outside of numerous guest rooms. The Walt Disney Company prides itself on keeping up appearances. If mold can infect a Disney Resort, it can infect just about any building. Extensive mold found in the hallways and rooms of the Grand Floridian Hotel proves that even world class resorts must come to terms with this growing problem. Joan Manangu, of the Walt Disney World Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida in a letter writes, "The mold issues have been remedied." |

| Wow, that's pretty serious. I hope they are able to clear it all up and don't have this problem again in the future. I also hope they are checking all of the resorts as well.

| Well rats. We're staying there in August and now I'm wondering if we need to change our reservation. We have medical issues- a moldy building would be very very serious. Mold is very difficult to get rid of. I can't imagine how that was really done without extensive closures.

| This is a serious problem, and I'm glad it's being taken care of. But I had to laugh when I read the article because who did they credit with information as to the cause of the mold? Not a health official, not an environmental expert, but a cab driver! ![]()

| My DSis who lives in Orlando says that mold is always an issue in Florida, but I'm glad WDW is taking care of it.
