there is a rumor on the disboards that this has been discontinued this year. Does anyone know if this is true? They say it was cancelled along with the summer concert series.

There haven't been any announcements regarding the Little Ones EMH or the Magical Beginnings program for 2008.
What summer concert series are you talking about?

I read on another website that they aren't doing the EMH for Little Ones. I think it was wdwinfo.com.

I did a little digging and Disney still has their Magical Beginnings website up and running.

As for what other guests are talking about, I found this info on Intercot:disney world - INTERCOT walt disney world information guide - discussion boards (I think they are more referring to the program that allowed vacation planners to preorder things for their kids taking part in the Magical Beginnings offerings. That was in a test phase last year and no announcement has been made yet regarding this year (the program seems to run in September.)

the summer concert series being mentioned is the sounds like summer concert series.

DIS reported a few days ago that the magical beginnings promotion is not going to happen this year. it could easily be as little as the playhouse disney concert series but it may very well include LOEMH as well.

the MB website actually has little to do with this other than promoting the event when it occurs. otherwise it's operational as an advice website for those with toddlers for both WDW and DLR (which didn't have the LOEMH or concert series) just like they have content for taking teens for example.

I just received my 2008 WDW Vacation Planning DVD in the mail, yesterday. (And watched it immediately, of course.) It has footage and information regarding Magical Beginnings, but not the Studios concert series for toddlers (on the Playhouse Disney stage: Choo Choo Soul, etc.). Do you think they'd put on the info on the DVD, but discontinue the program?

again, magical beginnings is a special year-long program geared towards providing information for bringing toddlers to the parks.

the LOEMH and playhouse disney concert series were a seasonal promotional thing.

just like Epcot has flowers and restaurants all year round, but the flower &garden and food & wine festivals are specific periods.

Bradk is right. Magical Beginnings and Little Ones Early Magical Hour are two separate promotions. Little Ones Early Magical Hour for the last two years ran from late August thru Sept aiming at preschool families to come during the slow period. Only Fantasyland was opened an hour early and the children were allowed to interact with the characters by riding the rides or playing games with them. No autograph or individual photographs. My DS(2 at the time) got to play Walk the Plank with Peter Pan and Wendy, Play Mickey says with Pluto and Mickey, Duck Duck Goose with Daisy and Minnie, and have Mary Poppins read him a nursery rhyme and sing Itsy Bitsy Spider.
We are going back this Sept and if the rumor is true we will be very sad because it was such a great experience for him. He still talks about playing with Peter Pan and Wendy too.
