JAN - MAY...we are on month 5

Okay. Tomorrow is May 1. The beginning of the 5th month of the Mom's Panel. The Moms were to be in place for at least 6 months.

Do you think we get another shot at it soon?

I would love a Free trip! (Oh who am I kidding...being on the panel would be FUN too.)

I didn't realise it was only for at least six months - I thought they were permanent. How cool if other PassPorters were to get a chance to be part of it as well.

Do you have to be a Mom to apply? I don't have any kids but love Disney.

I was one of the finalists that was interviewed but not picked . In my interview we discussed the 6 month thing and I was told then (it may have changed now) that that the 6 month time frame was a minimum and that if a panelist decided to stay on and WDW agreed....they would remain past the 6 mo period but only 1 trip would be given.....I am hoping for another shot too

For some reason, I was under the impression that it was a 6 month minimum, also.

I haven't spent much time over on those boards, but I would think that Disney might look at using frequent posters as mods. Very much like other boards do when finding their mods. I can't see them spending all that money again to find something right in front of them.

On the other hand, I can see them doing something to try to increase the usage of the site. Maybe some kind of contest for posters or a scavenger hunt or something like that would be more what I would expect.

Just a thought.....

Well, they are not exactly boards. You can't post whatever you want. You submit a question to be answered, and they choose questions to be posted on the site with the answer from one of the panel members. No room for you to add your 2 cents worth! (which I like to do from time to time - just look at my total posts!)

Using the moms panel is how I found this site! I originally went to the WDW site and it connected me with moms panel , wich I thought was great at the time. One of the moms answered a question from another person about what other websites they used for information and this one was listed. I rarely go to the moms panel anymore becuase this site is better. You ALWAYS get answers instead of only when your question is selected and you get more than one opinion. I love this site, It's where I've gotten most of my info from for our upcoming trip. I wish everyone luck that wants to be on the panel, a lot of you guys would be great for it!

One of the Moms panelists is a PassPorter Message Board member! She also contributed a series of articles on her experience being chosed to PassPorter News. From what I understand they will not be running this contest again any time soon.

How do they decide who to choose and how do you apply?

If they ever do decide to run another competition and they run the next one in the same fashion as the last one, you would be able to try out from a link on the WDW official site. You are then asked basically to write down a little bit about yourself and what you can offer to the Moms panel.

I was wondering how that worked too. I know an awesome parent (dad) that would be great as part of a Disney planning panel but they have kind of limited it to moms according to the title.

One of the current 'moms' is a dad but I'm not sure whether you had to be a parent or not.

From what I've been given to understand, you do have to be a parent in order to be on the Moms panel as they want people who have experience dealing with children and WDW vacations.
