It is completely random. I hate to hear families in the park complaining about not getting anything. It's very sad to me to expect things.

Now, Bethany and I have won dream fastpasses about 6 times now. Five times at Epcot and once at AK. I think that a lot of dream fast passes are given out around 10.

We have one dream fast passes at:

Soarin- as we waited to go into the show.
Walking through Innoventions as a short cut to Mission:Space
IN MISSION: SPACE after leaving Innoventions. (LOL Yes 2 sets of dream fast passes within 10 minutes)
I can't remember where the other two were. I think in The Seas once and The Land once.

At AK, it was at Rafiki's Planet Watch.

Since we go so often, We don't need the dream fast passes every trip. 4 different times, Bethany and I have searched out a nice couple and given them to them. I enjoyed seeing how excited they were!

Some friends of mine went to WDW just after we got back last month, and they got the Dream ears hats while waiting for Mission Space. My friend was so sweet--she knew they wouldn't really wear them again, so she gave me a pair to display in my office!!!

DH and I have gotten 3 dream "prizes". We had gotten dream fast passes for AK the first time and were very suprised and happy. We had completely forgotten it was even going on. The next day, we were in then MGM Studios and got dream fast passes twice in one day! The second time, we approached one of the DS members and asked them if it was ok if we gave them to a couple of kids, as we had already gotten something that day. The DS member smiled, said "of course thats fine, but wait one moment please". She dissapeared for a moment and then brought us VIP tickets for Fantasmic! as a "reward" for helping someone elses dream come true!

Our last trip in November we were wearing our Happy Anniversary buttons. Our first day we got ambushed by the Dream Squad in the Animal Kingdom on the Pangani Trail. We got lanyards. Our third day as everyone in our boat on IASW exited up the ramp the Dream Squad gave everyone a lanyard that was in the boat.

I won a Dream FastPass one morning during the preshow at the RRC at the Studios. They were standing in the corner and I didn't even notice them until they announced we had won. Logan was "Chef of the Hour" at Moma Melrose on our first night when we went to the Studios. Last Oct. DS and another little girl were the offical Epcot park openers, he also got a certificate. So we have had some Dream Moments.

Most of the Dreams are very small ones, and you may not even know you've received it. I found that out one day, when the kids and I were in line for icecream and the people in front of us got WAFFLE cones!! And the people 3 groups in front of them had also. Lauren wanted one also, so I asked if we could have one. The answer was no - they were part of the Million Dreams promotion, and they went to so many people per hour, that ordered a certain icecream at a certain time period.

In that case I think we got a dream at Casey's. We ordered our hot dogs and while waiting for them, the CMs began singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame and gave my husband a free bag of Cracker Jack.

So many people never even get to Disney once. They would kill to be in our place. Just be greatful you are able to go. I actually saw a family WHINE that the people next to them got to be the parade people for the day and not them. I'd find it terribly hard to not be snarky with them.

I've just returned from my second trip during this promotion and I've never even seen a dream squad member in any of the parks.

As someone who never wins ANYTHING, I am totally prepared and expecting that trend to continue when we're at WDW in December. I am so flipping excited that we are finally taking this trip that anything else would be beyond belief for me.

That said, I'd be thrilled for it to happen, and I would even love to see it happen to someone else; I'm weird that way. I'd probably burst into tears watching it lol.

I spoke with a friend that vacationed there during Gay Days. She told the story of her boys being approached at the entrance to AK one morning. The lady asked her boys numerous times if they wanted to dance with her. They declined time after time. The family that said yes got to open the park! She said they were in the parade, as well! Can you believe that!?!? Good thing my boys aren't shy! If they are asked by anyone at Disney to participate, they are all over it!!! (Regardless of Dream Squad status or just regular cast member!)

As others have said, I believe that the dreams given are random. We received our dream just by walking from Toontown to Fantasyland - just 3 ladies walking and talking about being the MK and what our plan was for the day as it was early - around 9:30 I think. The Dream Squad approached us and just started chatting with us. They asked us how our vacation was going, where we were from, who all was with us. When they found out that it was an all girls trip, they told us they thought they had something we all would thoroughly love! They asked us to wait, as one of the dream squad needed to make a phone call! A few minutes later they asked us if our entire party could be back up front at the MK to meet someone special. Of course we can - was our reply! They were all very sweet and very upbeat! Our dream was a one on one meet with Cinderella! We got to talk with her, have pictures with her. It was a great time!
This last visit, while walking past the Crystal Palace, my niece and I were talking about the schedule for meeting Peter Pan (my niece's favorite character) when walking right beside Carly was a member of the dream team. She overheard our conversation and started chatting with us. Once we got to Adventureland, she asked us to stop - she needed to make a phone call! When she came back she told us where to stand to meet Peter. She told us not to leave the area. Well, of course we didn't!
The CM came back just about the time Peter Pan and Wendy came out for meet and greets. Carly got to meet her favorite charcter and have a long chat with him. Then the CM gave Carly an official certificate that makes her an "honorary lost girl"! She also had to say a pledge about never growing up! It was so cute!
So - after that long story......yes, I think the Dream Team just cues in to people as they are already having a magical time!

I have been there six times since the promotion started and I have never even seen a Dream Team. I did notice when we were there the last time that I saw a lot fewer people with FP, lanyards, and ears than I had in previous visits. Maybe they are winding down some?
