I know this might be a stupid post but....

Has anyone won something from the Dream Squad and what did you do to get their attention?

We are celebrating a Sweet 16 on this trip and would love something special to happen.

Thanks,

This one day when we walked into EPCOT there was a woman there with a clipboard just waiting to jump on me. I was so excited. Then it just turns out she wanted to find out how much I liked our resort. We won nothing. But I think to win anything is just random anyway. So good luck. But don't hold your breath. And I could be wrong.

We got Dream Fastpasses in Epcot on my birthday in December. Everyone who entered the park at International Gateway that morning was told to go a particular way and there the Dream Squad was, so we did nothing special, other than follow the instructions of the Cast Member.

From what I've heard, there's nothing you can do to get their attention and win something, it's completely random. I read an article from a CM on the dream squad, I think it was on allearsnet.com. This CM stated that the dream squad is given specific instructions like, the person who exits a certain ride at a certain time. When we won a lanyard set at ToT, everyone in our pre-show room won, so I guess that was their instructions at that particular time.

Good luck though, it took me 3 trips to win anything!

I don't beleve you can get their attention...I think they just randomly pick someone out and it is just luck. Like the above post says. We were there for the twins birthday in April and they wore their pins and all the CM's were very kind but nothing out of the ordinary happened! I am hoping we have better luck in September!

I don't think you can do anything special. I know we received 2 dreams on our last trip...we were named "Family of the Day" at Pop Century and received VIP admitance to the Nemo musical. For the PC thing I just got a knock on the door one afternoon and there was a CM standing there with a picture frame and a certificate. We did absolutley nothing....although they had MAJORLY screwed up our reservation and we had a huge fiasco getting rooms at 1A the night before so we always joked that that was Disneys way of making it up to us. There were a couple of times that we were stopped by Dream Squad members and my MIL would make a HUGE deal over how this was DSs first trip...he got his very first haircut there, etc. and that seemed to kinda turn them off. They would just congratulate us and smile and move on to someone else. When we got Nemo VIP seating I was just checking the scheduled board and a CM asked if we wanted to see Nemo that day. I told her that was what I was looking at the times for and she pulled out a VIP seating card for us.

So my advice is to not expect anything...just go in to enjoy Disney and maybe you will get lucky!

We have not been lucky enough to get Dream passes but have had a few other "magical gifts " bestowed on us. Did nothing special and it seems that the DS is turned off if you try and get something....I will tell you we have had very good luck by the back entrance to RFC in AK. That is where the majority of our gifts have been handed out.

have been there 4 times last year - 2 twice this year and still nothing.

so don't count on it.

that say here if you looked like you belonged - you know didn't stop to look lost - they assumed you worked there and immediately ignore you.

what is the stuff they wear - that is surpose to tell you they are close by?

We got Dream lanyards and pins at Typhoon Lagoon.
We encountered people winning:
-Dream Ears at Tower of Terror. (the library room next to ours got them)
-Dream Fastpasses at Kali River Rapids.
-Dream trip to Disneyland awarded to an older couple walking in to guest services at Epcot.

I think this is for legal reasons! They have each prize set up as "the fifth group to enter the International Gateway after 4:15 PM wins a Dream FastPass." It doesn't matter who the person is... just that they were the 5th ones to enter after the specified time.

It's the only way that it would be fair.

I think this is the only way to get an official prize. During our trip a few weeks ago, I came out of the restroom to find DD and DH chatting away with a member of the Dream Team -- I was very excited!! But when I got closer, I discovered it was just that -- chatting. (DD is very good at getting people to converse with her...cool at WDW, scary anywhere else.) The Dream Team member had admired DD's dress and just wanted to talk to her...no prize.

On our last night, DD was putting on her own show after the last Spectro of the night, dancing in the middle of Main Street while we were waiting for DH to come out of the restroom. A few members of the Dream Team stopped to watch her and just thought she was a riot. They gave her a roll of about 50 Mickey stickers, but no "official" prize.

In other words -- attracting attention doesn't get you a prize...you have to be in the right place at the right time. Completely random! So, my advice -- just go and make your own magic!

We were part of a group that got Dream Mickey Ears after entering Epcot through the back entrance back in Dec. Nobody was directing us to take the little side path into Future World like we did, but there was a CM there handing them out.

I was recently at DLR for my b-day. Even my b-day button did nothing to attract attention. But, the Dream Suite was occupied. They had signs at the bottom of the stairs to rope it off to stop people from going up. So, someone won something.

I have to wonder if they target people with younger children. If you watch the videos from the Dream Team it is all about little kids. Maybe adopt a kid for the day?
