Disney's Night Kingdom

Has anyone else heard this rumor about park # 5 called Night Kingdom? I hope they go through with it, cause, it sounds really awsome.

It was discussed a few months ago:

I hope it stays dead. If and when Disney decides to open another park, I hope that it is more family oriented and doesn't cost $300+ to get in !!

This might have just been someone blowing smoke up our skirts or it might have been a purposeful leak of a "blue sky" idea that Disney wanted fan reaction to.

If it was a leak, I think they got their answer on whether they should move forward with this idea.

I do know that Disney is def planning a 5th park, wether they choose Night Kingdom is yet to be seen. During my last trip to WDW, I heard from 3 different cm's that Disney was doing another park and currently in the process of hiring some 3000 new cm's

Not that I'm doubting what you heard or what the CMs were passing along, but I tend to take the "average CM" rumors with a grain of salt -- the company is HUGE and what trickles down out of the Imagineering department, the corporate bean counters, and the project leads is very much a "whisper down the lane" thing.

Until something is announced by Disney corporate, I tend not to count on it.

However, I do agree that something might be coming down the pike soon -- either another E-ticket attraction or a new section in a smaller park.... something. Everest has been up for quite a while and Toy Story Midway Mania is up -- time for something new... and something more than the upgrade to California Adventure.

The only thing that Disney might encounter as a problem when blue-skying, designing, building, and realizing a new attraction/park is that much of the US's creative contractors are being occupied by all the new parks and attractions that are going on in Dubai right now. It's definitely affecting the California Adventure work and timeframe. (My DH is in the biz and it's a wild and crazy time right now.)

Well, those cms are more than likely wrong. I'll trust the CEO himself who says no new at WDW. Maybe more smaller things like this Night Kingdom or water parks but no 5th park for awhile. CMs are the most unreliable sources of info you can get. Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios has a lot work to do to fill them up before they worry about another park. I'd love to see one though.

I'd be kind of surprised if they did start a fifth park now, with traveling costs going up and people having to cut back on things like vacations.

Maybe a lot of this is because of the Harry Potter world coming to US. I know we are definately looking forward to that. But NOTHING will ever compare to Disney. I've been to US only once. We thought about it this time, but I don't want to miss any time from Disney. We are waiting for our next trip to be after HP opens up, but we will still stay at a Disney resort and spend a few days there. The resorts for US are way too expensive for us and I just love DISNEY!
