| So last night after church I settled into a chair to read through our new set of souvenir WDW books. Somebody else has already posted a glowing review of these books, and I agree! They have so much real info in them now, lots of insider-type details about the parks, lands and attractions. Anyway, I noticed something I thought was odd about the Tomorrowland Speedway. The book says that the Speedway "moves by way of a linear induction motor - electromagnets move the cars around its 2,260-foot track without utilizing any onboard moving parts". Huh? I thought the racecars were powered by a gasoline engine, as they're currently testing a hybrid version. Isn't the TTA the attraction that is powered by linear induction motors? The book does not mention the TTA at all, so perhaps the descriptions of these two attractions somehow got combined during the editing process? Or I am wrong about the Speedway cars? This is really bugging me ... help! ![]()

| You are correct. It's the TTA that's powered by linear induction. Who could miss all the nasty disel fumes from the speedway.

| You are correct. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority is powered by Linear Induction Motors. The Tomorrowland Speedway cars are powered by old-fashioned gasoline-powered carbueration motors.

They don't really have a name. Each book has the name of the theme park at the top, and says "Where dream come true" at the bottom, with "Souvenir Book" across one corner. The slipcase the box set comes in has Souvenir Books Box Set on the back of the case. The price sticker, for those of you who might want to call in an order, says Walt Disney World SC (softcover?) Resorts Boxed Set. The 13-digit ISBN is 978-1-42-310718-7. They are available at practically all the gift shops - both in the parks and the resorts. Don't know if the boxed set is everywhere, though. I got mine at World of Memories at the Marketplace because that's the first place I noticed the boxed set. I had seen the individual books earlier in the trip, but wisely held out for the whole set. So now that we're all in agreement about the error, I think I'll see about emailing them and see what they have to say about it.

| P.S. Just out of curiousity, I sent them an email to see what their response would be. All I've heard back so far is the standard reply, that my email has been forwarded. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

| Great catching that error. I'm interested to see what Disney says to you about it.
