Dave's comments got me thinking about how sometimes Disney has parties onsite to promote new movies, etc. HSM is scheduled to be released in theatres Oct 24th - could it be a screening party??

Interesting, but there's not really a suitable theater at MK. They have done movie events at DCA's Hyperion Theater, but that seats at least a couple of thousand, in proper movie theater style. Also, the timing (nearly three weeks prior to opening) doesn't see quite right.

I've read (don't remember where though") that the October announcement is for the DVC at the Contemporary. I think we've all suspected that was what was going on with all that building anyway.

I read the following quote at Walt Disney World Park Update (Walt Disney World Park Update) by Mark Goldhaber :

"…We reported a couple of weeks ago that the October 3 Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party had been cancelled. At the time, there were many rumors floating that it meant that there would be a fall press event at Walt Disney World. We've since heard a different rumor as to the possible reason for the cancellation. Some cast members are letting slip that the park will be closed that Friday night for Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16 party. Of course, both of these stories are rumors, so we'll have to wait to see if one or the other gets any confirmation."

Who knows? Disney sure knows how to get us all talking, though!

Wow, to have the whole park to yourself and your friends to celebrate your sweet 16?? I think I had my best friends over for a slumber party.
