Room Discount?

I noticed on touringplans.com that there is a discount expected to come out on the 14th for a room discount if you buy a package. Does anyone have any more info on this?? (as is how much of a discount?) I also read that it would be offered to Disney Visa holders first, but have heard nothing more about it. Any info would be appreciated........

I received a PIN code in the mail yesterday, so that is a very good indication that they will soon be releasing a VISA code and a general public code. What I got was about a 30% discount from what I could calculate. And yes, it was a MYW package.

Is the discount able to be used on trips already scheduled or only new trips?

We received a PIN code discount last week. It was good only on standard rooms in a package, so we modified our normal preferred room reservation and saved about $300.00 on our six night stay at AS Music 11/30 - 12/6. In past years small discounts of about $80-90 sometimes became available to the public after we had made our reservations and our agent (TMFL's Jessica) was able to apply them, even though they were for a preferred room. But we're willing to walk a little to save that $300.00--dinner at Boma, here we come!

When you say a 30% discount-was that just off the room rate, or off an entire package price? Thanks.

You should be able to apply the discount to a trip already booked. We've done it in the past. If the discount code is released, called Disney directly and ask, or if you booked with a travel agent, contact your travel agent. Travel agencies that specialize in Disney vacations should be used to applying discount codes to existing reservations.

If booked through a TA, would they get a PIN or would it come to me?

There is a package discount available today for travel from 9/28 - 12/23/08. It's available to the general public with no pin code required but it is based on availability and has some black out dates. If you're booked directly with Disney you can call them to see if the discount can be applied, or if you're booked with a TA you can check with them.

There is a discount for Values on the AP website for Sept through December with the lowest price $54 per night and the highest during the period $84 per night. There are some dates that are not included like Wed-Sat of the week of Thanksgiving and some nearer Christmas.

I called about an hour ago... code is DGL for MYW package without dining for travel from 28 Sep - 23 Dec. For one of our rooms (2ad,2ch) moving from Pop to ASMu for 9 days would save me $370. We already have 3 rooms booked, so it would save me $1000!!!! Disney rep said to keep calling back as many people book straight away then realise it's not in their budget and cancel. We really want to stay at Pop for (wait for it...) the frozen cokes on the refill station and the dedicated bus service - LOL! I'll call back in a few days.
