So I heard from a CM that Aerosmith's contract with Disney is almost up and Disney isn't offering them enough money for to keep it going. So they're looking at shutting the ride down soon and changing it to Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brothers. They wouldn't have to pay Miley or the Jonas Brothers because already contracted with Disney. I'm not a huge fan of either but then again I'm 23. I will miss the Aerosmith version. Let me know if anyone else had heard anything!

I saw this on gossip/news site, but they seemed to feel that it wasn't a creditable rumor.

Also -- the age group that would appreciate the music of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers are probably not the same age group that would (generally) enjoy this ride...

UUGGGGG, I love this ride, and to ruin it like that would be horrid. I love the music and the little scene before the ride.

I have to agree being 28! Miley while she is adorable just wont do the ride justice. Could they get Bon Jovi or something else at least something that screams ROCK! The Stone woudl be wicked but I dought thats gonna happen.

They'd have to change the name to teenie bopper roller coaster... and then the ride itself would have to be completely reworked. Hmmm cost analysis says... KEEP THE ROCK!!! No offense meant to Miley or the Jonas Brothers, but PAH-LEESE!

If you're referring to the Rolling Stones, I've read somewhere that they were Imagineers' first choice as the headliner on the attraction but wanted too much money. So they went with another choice: Aerosmith

There was another thread on this topic a couple of months ago too. I can't imagine Disney spending millions on this attraction knowing that their contract would eventually run out without having some kind of plan to make it work.

I think i will never ride my favorite at DHS again . plus i think they should give out the barf bags if it is miley cyrus / or jonas brothers . they better call metalica caus sandman is waiting hahahaha!!!!!

I would be so mad if they changed the ride. Miley and the Jonas Brothers? Really? On a roller coaster? It just doesn't fit with the ride.

With Miley and her dad supposedly trying to get off the disney channel I don't see why they would then change a roller coaster ride to that theme...but who knows? I vote for Steppenwolf!

The part that seems suspicious to me is the notion that it was just a 10 year contract. Generally, attraction-related contracts are much longer than that, such as the contracts for attraction sponsorships. Disney has a pretty good idea of how long an attraction should hang around before a major overhaul like this, and 10 years isn't it.
